i don't think this was a dream but i heard akana went to a texas volleyball camp in 2017...she either made a commented or made a vision board about winning a national championship @ texas...i'm not remembering where i saw this information yesterday...also if it's already been posted sorry a while back i was looking @ the texas volleyball ig some of the old texas teams like '15,'16 & '17 (this was before the tournament) & i saw that akana had liked a lot of pics of those texas players...i thought it was interesting...i never knew akana was interested in coming to texas before Akana will always be remembered for the ace winning the game. But she was an unsung hero for the match IMO. After a re-watch she passed more balls than anyone, I counted 20. And she was solid all night, my grade would be above a 2.2.Texas FBSO on 45% of her passes. She is considered the weaker passer of the littles and was targeted consistently but delivered big-time IMO. Fleck was Fleck on her 16 passes and Texas FBSO on 43.8% of her passes. Halter graded the best IMO on her 11 passes and Texas FBSO on 45% of her passes. Logan wasn’t spectacular but she was not a liability on her 7 passes, I’m guessing it was somewhere around a 2, Texas FBSO on 28% of her passes. If Akana doesn’t deliver with a heavy passing load that game could have turned in another direction. Kudos to Akana!!! I’d be interested to see the VM grades if someone has them.

Thinking back at the 2020 class, possibility that we offered Iosia a ship instead of Akana and that caused Akana to choose elsewhere.

Enjoy the last 4 points to a championship! A question: Was Aiko Jones really in the net during one of those points. I rewound it once on my DVR trying to find the net contact and I couldn't quite see it. I didn't see any blowups on the game thread protesting that call, so I assumed my old eyes just can't see it. I believe we would need a much closer shot to see it. The camera shot is just too far away. However, the R2 that called it is looking right at it. Jones didn't protest it. Both Louisville assistants are standing but a few feet away and both just turned around and went to the bench with no overt reaction. No challenge when they had been challenging everything in the third set, including the previous play that wasn't close.

I was like 10 feet from that photo. I was moved watching the emotion Asija was able to release in that moment.

Good question I don’t remember it, but it may have happened when we had to trek down from Mount Kilimanjaro in the mezzanine to the floor level.

I won't deny that Akana had some rough matches during the season where her serve receive broke down. And, a handful of Huskers fans liked posting their "i-told-you-so's" reminding us that she had similar matches while at NU. But, I'm not sure any of them came to eat some crow on Saturday night. Maybe some posted their compliments about her performance, but I didn't see them. I knew Louisville would target her with their serves, and she played lights out.

Actually pretty sure jw did come back and say something. Classiest Nebraska poster on VT for sure

Serve: Texas kept just about everyone out of system, best serving team in the country. The entire team can come at you in waves. Receive: Texas passing has been solid all year and delivered in the tournament. Set: SKT set a really good game in the NC, she was on point.
