That was fun to watch. The Governor. I like it!
I can’t believe Jordan Larson is going to be affiliated with Texas volleyball for all time, now. Mildly starstruck in ways I don’t normally get. Part of it has to be I’ve always had such respect for her. Before she was ever named as an assistant, I’d watch all kinds of interviews with her, whether because of the Olympics, or when her jersey was retired at Nebraska, and she always comes across the same way she did here. Down to earth. Not too complicated. A pro’s pro. Intensely intensely focused and competitive. She just approaches things right.
She mentions it here, but she’s done such a great job of maximizing the physical gifts she has been given. She takes the game seriously, but she doesn’t take herself too seriously, “You have to look pretty for the match, right?” “I don’t know where the gum thing comes from. It’s a little weird.”
Let’s go! LFG!
P.S. I wish I could have understood what the Italians were saying about her. I couldn’t get YouTube’s auto translate to show up for me. Did anyone else have that issue?
Thanks so much for posting @basil

Hard to not love Jordan. She's a classy super star team player with no problems working well with and sharing what she knows with people of lesser talent.
Just my opinion, but I think there's every chance she and Dave might choose to stay in Texas. I think both will be pretty much all in on their efforts for Texas. IMO, they have their eyes on ending at a top program. This is one of those. I don't think we can assume they will automatically bolt for another location now.

Ambitious people want to be the head person. It’s my opinion looking at his career trajectory, David Hunt is one of those people. Honestly, I don’t think Jordan Larson would have married him otherwise. To me, helping people reach their dream of being a head coach someday (I know he already has been, but at a big time women’s volleyball program) is part of the legacy successful head coaches leave. I don’t know how long the Hunt/Larson show is in Austin, but I don’t foresee them having a Sullivan or even Tanya Johnson type tenure. But making marriages work is hard. Making marriages work with two really ambitious people creates special challenges. Nearly always choices have to be made that favor one spouse’s career over another. Even more so when both of them have volleyball as their career choice. I’m glad for them they’ve found a scenario at Texas under Elliott that can meet their current lifestyle needs, but I find it difficult to imagine that’s going to be fulfilling enough for the both of them for a significant amount of time.

I agree that this is a stepping stone position for David and Jordan. Being successful at Texas will elevate David's profile and should make a good opportunity come his way in the future. Just my own speculation, but I would put three years as the max they will be at Texas before that opportunity comes calling.

So seat upgrades and seat selections for newbies will follow, maybe July???

It’s unrelated to volleyball, but I’m so ecstatic they managed to delink basketball and football donations. I’m so thankful it’s never been an issue For volleyball. They’ve done so many things well with the volleyball program over the years, from moving to Gregory, to student seating, to marketing. It’s been terrific. I’m excited for you, @eyeroll2021 !

This is my first year, I'm stoked i called Texas athletics about the wbb season tickets and also asked about volleyball. the renewals will go out in the summer and then seat selection
i just checked my old emails: 1) i renewed volleyball last year at the end of july. 2) seat selection took place from august 6 through august 10
