We saw it but we decided to give her grace. You should do the same Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. But did anyone else think Kayla Caffey's response in the press conference after the match was terrible? I fully understand that emotions and disappointments are high, but she completely disregarded the question about hitting against the WI block by only saying "it was good." Hames and Stivrins seemed to be able to muster the ability to respond (as amateurs) in a somewhat professional way. I found it disappointing and not the kind of behavior I would expect "Husker Nation" to esteem.

She is an amazing young woman, so classy. Love the way she contributed to this team. Totally agree. You would never have guessed she’s not been playing. Genuine joy in the accomplishment of her team And my favorite sight at the end was Madi and Lexi walking off the court with their arms around each other. ❤️

Anyone know the frame rate and/or resolution of replays for the final four versus the best regular season matches? No way some of those challenges could have been won during regular season or earlier rounds in the tournament. The video would not have been clear enough and zooming in would have just left a blur.

If we compare their collegiate careers, I would take Hilley on my team any day. Carlini made all americans, Hilley is surrounded by ready made all americans. This is one of those dumb arguments where people say Kershaw is lacking because he never won a world series (until he finally did) PS No further response will be forthcoming as you are a Carlini troll who uses any excuse or moment to take a shot at her

If by "someone" you mean you, I'm all for it You don't need to watch the video, you can do it rather quickly and easily from the 'play by play' of the box score. And it is necessarily the case that the team winning the set under rally scoring scored (at least as many, but almost always) more 'points on serve' - aka sideout scoring points - than the losing team. (Unless I screwed it up) 1st set - UW 8, Neb 12 2nd set - UW 11, Neb 9 3rd set - UW 8, Neb 7 4th set - UW 7, Neb 8 5th set - UW 7, Neb 5 (all UW points scored with Jade Demps at the line, btw) Tied at 41 all
I looked through the play by play, and I think you got these numbers right except for the 1st set - UW would have had 9, not 8. I don't think the sideout scoring difference in points can be greater than the rally scoring difference in points, and UW lost the 1st set by 3, so the sideout scoring difference should be no more than 3.
In any case, it was definitely a close match, and would have been no matter how it was scored.

Yup, nine. I knew there was a good, good chance I had screwed it up somewhere.

Okay, about Caffey - I laughed. Was it the best response? No, but I completely understand where she was coming from. I am similar in that I need a bit to process my emotions before I can be articulate about an intense event, so I identified with the raw & real nature of it. No shade, girl. You were great.
Also, my heart broke a little when Hames started crying in response to a question and said she’d just realized she was never gonna get to play with Stivrins again. Very genuine.

Lol *sees Hames crying*
Interviewer: “what are your emotions after the match”
Like I swear, people like Caffey are needed to keep it real. Her response to her question wasn’t nearly as bad as the question above.

Thanks, rainbowbadger. I've appreciated your posts this year, very classy. Looked to me like Kayla was fighting hard not to break up entirely, and it was all she could do to keep her composure.
Completely agree about Nicklin. She and Lauren have both just laid it all out there for everyone to see. Genuine is the perfect description, and a big reason I've just loved this team.

What the heck happened to my super confident Badgers? Where’s the swagger? Next day I know but see Barnes’ swagger when she hauls in and plops that trophy down on the press conference table

Can someone please post a link to the match replay when it comes available? I would *really* like a screen capture of Lexi and Madi walking off with arms around each other.
It would be simple to grab it from the YouTube tv recording, if those Google and Disney b*st%rds hadn't screwed things up. Grr.

Congrats to Wisconsin!! Took them 6 years after LC graduated to finally get the crown - and having a bunch of 5th year seniors really helped Totally impressed by Nebraska’s freshman class. Deserved this moment too. Apart from an upperclassman setter in Hames, if they had won instead of Wisconsin, this would’ve been like Stanford 2016 all over again.
