speaking of penn state, i'm extremely surprised not to have identified many penn st fans in this forum. i get that the team is down the last few years, but with its glorious history, i expected more lion fans. They only hangout on DigNittany now

Need more Kubik quotes. "They love it" and "Breaking Fingers - Not really, but kind of" will make great t-shirts.

I have to wonder how Hames feels the morning after after a match like last night where she is hitting the hardwood and sacrificing her body on so many plays. I guess at that young age you roll with it. Wonder how Knuckles face feels today? Concussion protocols being followed for her I wonder? OUCH!!!

The new drinking game is “hard to beat a team three times in one season.”
Please disregard Louisville over Georgia Tech, Nebraska over Illinois, and Wisconsin over Minnesota.
At the same time, though…can we pretend it’s true? Just this one time? For me?
Regardless of the result, GBR one more time.

Will be rooting for Nebraska. The other three all had great seasons, and congrats on that to them. But none deserve to get a natty before other far more established and prestigious programs that haven't had their turn to win one yet. And of course, I'm talking about an actual, real natty, won at the conclusion of an actual, real fall season. Lol what?

I knew this was coming so looked up Nebs history yesterday. 54 times in their history they have played a team 3x in a season with one of the two teams winning the first 2 matches, the team that won the first 2 matches in that season won the 3rd one 52 times.

It is hard to beat a team 3X in a season and to date Nebraska has taken one set in the 2 match's.
The saving grace for Nebraska was the in season turmoil and juggling line ups that Cook experimented with.
Nebraska is really jelling and playing as a great unit right now.
I hate Wisconsin but really HATE Nebraska but I think they win the National Championship. BTW I hate Texas more than any team.

As has been proven the last few years, this is not a matchup that in any way favors Nebraska. Wisconsin should win. Do I want them to? No, but I think it's inevitable. Texas in Austin was also a matchup that didn't favor Nebraska. Texas should win. Pitt was a matchup that didn't favor Nebraska. Pitt should win. I mean we can spend all day typing about history and matchups and predictions and odds. Truth be told, it comes down to one performance. If one team plays their best and the other doesn't, the better performing team wins. Throw your rankings and your records and your stats out the window. It doesn't matter anymore.

Some Husker fan musings: - Louisville gave Wisconsin all they could handle, even with Smrek going OFF and Loberg playing well. Couple that with NE's first set @ Wisconsin last time around, I think there's enough confidence in this inspired Husker squad to make it happen. - Madi Kubik is finally establishing her identity on this Husker squad. I think she's always played well, has a lot of great skills, but her pressers have opened our eyes to the type of personality she brings to this team. Everyone around her elevating their game has given her space to be great, not just an outlet. Excited to see her take it up another level next year. - Who lets the pressure get to them first? Is it the Huskers? Can they continue to sustain this postseason magic? Or will they fold at a familiar face at the end of the road? Is it the Badgers? Now is absolutely the time - will they rise to the occasion? If the Huskers take a set (esp. first set), do they get in their own way?
Someone else offered a similar perspective, but I'm thrilled that NE is playing in the final game of the year. No matter what happens, this season will be deemed an incredible success. GBR!

Fast offenses are/were the way to nullify Nebraska’s back court defense. We’ve just played two much better offensive duos on the OH than what Wisconsin has. That being said, Wisconsin gets their middles involved much more than the other two teams.

That being said, Wisconsin gets their middles involved much more than the other two teams. If Nebraska gets Hilley off the net and forces the ball to Loberg and Orzol, the Husker defense has a chance to frustrate the OHs. However, Hilley and Rettke's connection is so wonderful, Hilley is able to always find Rettke somehow. And I'll give credit to Loberg - I've never been her biggest fan but she has really stepped up her game. Regardless, I'm PUMPED that we get one more Rettke/Stivrins showdown. Slide queens.
