I’ve gotta say, Nebraska is playing some inspired ball this month. Anything could happen.

Nope. You spent it all, everything you had accumulated over the season, in the last two matches.
Time for it to run out. 🙂

They say the third times a charm! I hope that holds true for Nebraska! 😼 This is also the third time for Wisc trying to win a natty. So I hope it doesn't hold for them, in that sense.
There are more deserving, more established programs in front of them in the line. They need to step back.

The new drinking game is “hard to beat a team three times in one season.” Please disregard Louisville over Georgia Tech, Nebraska over Illinois, and Wisconsin over Minnesota. At the same time, though…can we pretend it’s true? Just this one time? For me? Regardless of the result, GBR one more time. I knew this was coming so looked up Nebs history yesterday. 54 times in their history they have played a team 3x in a season with one of the two teams winning the first 2 matches, the team that won the first 2 matches in that season won the 3rd one 52 times. And how does it come out when you apply that same analysis to the Wisconsin history? I am just guessing here, but I guess it might not differ that much.

I’ve gotta say, Nebraska is playing some inspired ball this month. Anything could happen. Good point--and not only inspired, but cohesive. Having had essentially the same lineup down the stretch (after a *lot* of changes earlier in the season) is a big factor. And likely a reason for the inspired play.
Hoping for a highly competitive match!

As others have already correctly pointed out:
it won't be exactly the same two teams, it won't be the same environment, it won't be the same pressure.
So the two previous match results are irrelevant.

enough of this turd I wasn't vulgar, I wasn't mean, I wasn't even really disrespectful, at all.
And you resort to childish name-calling? Are all Wisconsin fans like this?

I'm pretty sure they try to "the natty" every year, but this will be their 4th trip to a final. 2000, 2013, 2019

Most would correctly assume I was talking about three final four's in a row. Empty handed the first two, and here's hoping for the third as well.

And how does it come out when you apply that same analysis to the Wisconsin history? I am just guessing here, but I guess it might not differ that much. 14X it has happened, 13 times in favor of the team that won the first 2 So 2/54 versus 1/14, that's 3.7% versus 7.1%. Maybe not significantly different.
Thanks for the numbers!
Out of curiosity, have the Badgers really played the same team thrice in a season that many fewer times? Or maybe they've just had many fewer seasons in which the first two matches were split.

WIs records only go back to 1981, Neb goes back to 1974. Neb played a lot of games vs missouri, Kansas and iowa teams in the 70s and into the 80's many times a year. Most of Wisconsin's have been teams that made the tournament but not all. Northwestern was a fairly common opponent 40 years ago

But how many finals were they wearing Under Armor uniforms?
Similarly, other things that had nothing to do with what I was talking about?
