Anxious to see who he replaces the departed ACs with. There are interested and qualified coaches that are interested in coming to Btown. Who he brings in will be an indication of the vb program's needs. It may also be an indication of how stable and secure candidates feel the job is. It’s a tough sell for anyone who is really good and in a good job IMO Exactly. A coach has to really want that power 5 promotion $ or believe Steve will be around beyond his contract and they can help make it better.

It’s to my understanding that Steve was under a fairly large internal investigation at Indiana during the late part of the season and well into December. I was told that either their AD or SWA informed the team recently that not enough evidence was presented to give cause for removal (aka...we aren’t going to remove him and pay the nearly $1 million in a contract buy-out since he is making fantastic money and has three years left on his contract). The level of investigation and/or allegations (which I’m not sure what they were) could’ve swayed both Krista and Dan to separate themselves from him as soon as possible. Why do you continue to spread unsubstantiated gossip? First you post your nonsense about KB and now about Aird. What is your malfunction?👀 My guess is you know nothing about either place but you can’t resist just posting lies. Knock it off before someone sues you for libel. Thanks 🙏

Do you understand the term “unsubstantiated gossip” or do you just support all the wild lies that people like you decide to post? How do you know the post was “spot on”? What facts do you have? You have Nothing except being a worthless little snitch who hides behind his keyboard. It’s pathetic. If you ever got out of your basement and traveled to Oxford or Bloomington I imagine you would be sure to steer clear of the VB offices…and run if you saw KB or Aird…. You are a sad charature of a fan…. You must be proud

Says a lot about Aird and Banwarth that their friend/supporter gets on VT to threaten posters who shed a bit of light on what is going on behind the scenes at their programs.

Pounding away on keys, maniacally laughing like he’s just destroyed the whole population with his clever words. Great imagery.

Slander -- doing harm with speech
Libel -- doing harm with written statements
BTW -- truth is not the ultimate defense. Someone can be guilty of either even if statements are truthful. If statements are made with intent to do harm, someone can still be guilty if either, truthforsnot matter

Slander -- doing harm with speech Libel -- doing harm with written statements BTW -- truth is not the ultimate defense. Someone can be guilty of either even if statements are truthful. If statements are made with intent to do harm, someone can still be guilty if either, truthforsnot matter The Basics of Libel Law An opinion is not libel. Libel refers to specific facts that can be proved untrue. A true statement that damages someone’s reputation is not libel. (Although it might be invasion of privacy.) Libel laws are meant to monetarily compensate people for damage to their reputations–not to punish people who make false statements. It’s harder for a public figure to win a libel lawsuit than it is for a private person to win a libel lawsuit. This is basically right and it’s rare that a topic comes up on here about which I know anything so I can’t resist the chance to contribute to this detour: For defamation (which is the blanket term for libel and slander), truth is an absolute defense because both slander and libel require the harmful statement to be false. If it’s not a false statement, then it’s not defamation. There are complicated rules over whose burden it is to prove the truth/falsity of the statement and over whether the author/speaker needs to know the statement was false for it to be actionable. Truth is not “an absolute defense,” however, because truthful statements—even if they can’t be defamation—can give rise to other claims that generally fall under the umbrella of “invasion of privacy.” These include the harmful publication of private facts that the public has no genuine interest in (e.g., the former public health employee in the sitcom Parks and Rec could be liable for this tort after he made public posters about his ex-wife’s STIs); publication that puts a person in a false light (e.g., publishing photos of someone cavorting with a criminal in a way that implies the innocent person was engaged in criminal activity too); or using someone else’s name or likeness without their permission (e.g., someone using my photo and name to sell a product without my agreement). There are complicated factors and defenses with each of these, but they could theoretically be relevant to an anonymous forum comment under the right circumstances. There are also catch-all claims that come up, like intentional infliction of emotional distress or negligent infliction of emotional distress that permit someone to sue when someone engages in truly outrageous, conscience-shocking conduct that harms them. These are less likely to arise in moderated forum.

People are leaving - highly recruited players, other players, and now both assistant coaches. It can't just be all chalked up to "moving on up the ladder." Something smells bad at IU. I'm an alum who wants it to be better. So you can object to "gossip" if you want, but why not help explain what's REALLY going on if you have insights?
Cheers.

I just want to laugh every time someone brings up a libel or defamation suit on Volleytalk. Like, really? And how do you think IU admin would feel about that? Or even the suing party once all disciplinary files or any documents related to administration reviews of the program become discoverable?
LOL talk about an empty threat

If I'm a coach on the hot seat, the one thing I really wanna do is piss off the administration by getting into a lawsuit (that the media will surely eat up) over petty and random message board posts.

"unsubstantiated gossip" is rich from someone who kept proclaiming KBB was going to Penn State and even commentated on Creighton's own social media about losing their coach
