Indiana administration issues a statement:
"We have performed an investigation into the recent press conference where the volleyball head coach issued a statement and then sent in the entire team to answer questions from the media. The investigation has concluded this is completely normal. Nothing to see here. Thank you for your time."

Just now. IU v PSU. Set 1. After pt 17 v 23, IU #18 rolls off the court; Aird talks to her, touches her side, then arm, then tush. WTF.

I just looked at that sequence on VolleyMetrics. I don't know what you mean by "rolls off the court" but #16 switched out with the libero at that point and had a conversation with Aird. I can't say with certainty that it DIDN'T happen, but I didn't think there was inappropriate contact to the level you described (tush).

When I have a chance I'll look at the stream again; may have quoted the wrong score, and was confident it was #18. Will get back to you with a correction or confirmation. Addendum: Ineedajob, you are right the player was #16. When I first caught her number I assumed her hair was covering part of the 8. But it was #16. I still see a touch...but in a different order than I first wrote. Arm, tush, back. I guess we're going to agree that we cannot say with certainty.

I've been one of his biggest critics. But the addition of Alonso-Corcelles and Lopez, along with Haworth banging Micha Hancock-like jump serves, has given this team a different feel. I'm not overly optimistic, but we were there v. Iowa last night, and that 11-0 run in set 2 and the comeback in set 3 were fun to watch. To me, the worst part of the Aird teams has been the poor passing, but they passed really well tonight (which I realize might mostly be attributable to the Iowa's weak serving). First time in a long time that this team has looked pretty consistent, and like they were actually having a good time.

IU served very well vs IA IMO. Kept IA OOS and IU won easily. The players looked happy and interacted well with their coach.
Aird is not a photogenic guy. He has certain mannerism/facial expressions that don't help. However, his players are making progress (very young team) and seem to enjoy playing for him.
Go Hoosiers!

What does his appearance have to with anything? It should not, but many seem to strongly dislike him. I suspect his appearance does weigh into their dislike of him. Not saying that is right, and maybe I'm just wrong...again...
