Was Wrobel MVP at AAU’s? She looks so incredibly physical.

Can Packer fandom be far away? :-) Packers smackers! What we really need is to convert her to Badger volleyball! Also UWGB periodically has a good Horizon league team. You also forgot to mention the state championship matches in November are in the Resch Center right by Lambeau. Be sure to go watch the Waupaca grass tournament in July

So I was in the Twin Cities this weekend. b While it wasn't for volleyball, I decided to troll MN fans by wearing my NC T-shirt.
Also, there were a lot of Nebraska license plates in my hotel parking so that probably didn't hurt there either. Seemed to be some kind of AAU girls basketball tournament. Legit kids, tall and athletic.
Bonus points for not being noisy at night either.

Not to the Pav though, my dual fandom (and probably my seat mates) won't let me. I usually wear a red USA volleyball shirt for MN-WI.

I’m a guy but sorry to inform you I will never be a Badger fan Looking forward to traveling down to Madison to cheer on the Gophers though!! I did look into both the HS matches and UWGB - I’m excited to watch those as well!

If you've never been down here, just post in future match threads for recos. Also, if you can, you'd be more than welcome at the match at the Kohl Center as we try to break the attendance record.

Here's a cool thing: The S&C coach of Poland's U19s team is here in town, and looks to be working/studying with Kevin Schultz, the Badger VB S&C coach.

I’m sure there will be great give and take, and be a huge natural up-side for both programs. Love to see it. By the way…On Wisconsin! On Julia!! (Shamelessly 😎)

I think it’s really interesting that an international team S&C coach is consulting with an NCAA program. I’d be interesting in hearing if that has happened much before.
One thing NCAA programs might have more firmly in their sights is the developmental aspect of S&C. These are still young women after all, still developing physically. That’s all NCAA programs deal with - them at this stage in their development. Their success is entirely dependent on doing that properly in the small time that they have them.
They might also be dealing with a lot of physical challenges passed on from high school and club, where such knowledge is not as well understood or utilized. Maybe something similar happens in junior ranks of international volleyball abroad?

Just moved out to Green Bay and missing watching high level volleyball. Anyone know if any club teams/tournaments close by? Definitely will be driving down to Madison for some games and going to the Reach for HS. East side of Green Bay, on Bellevue off of Mason St, Cranky Pat's Pizza; thin crust, on the expensive side, but worth it for 'occasions'. My father's restaurant - yes he was cranky pretty regularly; still run by my niece and her husband. Been there since 1960. When did the name change from Frank and Pat’s? Ate there a bunch in the 80s

My father's restaurant - yes he was cranky pretty regularly; still run by my niece and her husband. Been there since 1960. When did the name change from Frank and Pat’s? Ate there a bunch in the 80s (Sorry for the very non-VB talk) Frank was my dad's business partner. After, I dunno, 30 years they got a 'divorce' and then some years later stopped using the common name. The restaurant in Appleton was Franks' Pizza for a while and is now Pierri Pizza - Frank's last name, being run by a grandkid. My father thought if they said "Cranky Pat's" fast on the phone, it would sound close enough to "Frank and Pat's" that they wouldn't be highlighting the change so much. Plus, everybody liked the name. Frank died in 2001 or 2, maybe; my father in 2003. In the 80s my brother Mike would have been running Green Bay; he died too young of cancer in 2004. But the pizza is just as good as always. I hope you can get back there some time.
