I managed to watch the entire Illinois replay. Badgers passed a 2.17 by my count, I will not adjust for Terry on Illinois being an awesome server because that is just dumb. You would have to grade on the most generous curve to get anywhere close to a 2.6: Franklin: 2.04 on 47 attempts which isn't bad for being heavily targeted Orzol: 2.16 on 19 GG: 2.53 on 17, great game by her Hart: 2.33 (just thought I'd include her 3 attempts lol) Also tracked our freeball offense: Franklin: 1/2 with 1 E Orzol: 0/2 Hart: 2/6 (not counted are her overpass kills, these are only attempts generated by our freeball offense). CC: 2/6 Robinson: 4/4 beast Demps: 1/2 I wish I had paid more attention to defense today as Izzy was a major difference maker. Her best game on defense by far. That’s the second good passing match for GG. I thought she was excellent against PSU too. Unfortunately the Illinois match is one where they targeted the OHs to slow then down. It worked.

So I've been waiting to witness GG jumping into someone's arms after she aces, but she hasn't had one since I learned she did it.
Go get some aces, GG!

I am celebrating Bramschreiber's release by going to Iowa City to watch her, maybe, play.

I am celebrating Bramschreiber's release by going to Iowa City to watch her, maybe, play. There's a bit in Punzel's book about this personality test that they give the players, which the coaches use to communicate effectively with individual players. Your comment brought it to mind (with the order changed a bit for effect): "If I take a Madison Duello and I tell her in the middle of the fifth set to calm down, that may center her. If I say that to a Lauren Barnes, she's going to want to punch me in the nose." The idea of Sheffield saying to Bramschreiber "Eh, maybe not tonight" brought that to mind. :-) Caged tiger that knows the door is about to be opened...

I would say you "may" see her if Badgers has a big lead.
Probably better start playing in a more comfortable environment than on the road imo. Don't quote me if it is not though. : )

It's the perfect time to get her in a match. No pressure from a large home crowd or playing a ranked opponent. I wish she could play against Purdue on Sunday, however. She's going to bring more stability to the backcourt. Her age and experience will be very valuable.

I'm guessing Bramschreiber will be in the regular rotation the moment she's available, no easing her in. She has 4 years of match experience, 3 years starting with 2 of those at libero. She's been practicing with the team all year. I expect her to have a similar type of presence as Gio did as a leader in the backrow, making sure everyone knows their assignments.

Adding, she's also already played in the Field House, three times (against UW and Minnesota) and played in a Final Four (also against UW). She's not a freshman who needs to be eased in, etc.

Question: Is it allowed to switch Libero during match?

Question: Is it allowed to switch Libero during match? Yes, you designate your libero before each set. You can not change liberos during a set (barring injury and some other exceptions).

Its very funny; I've been trying to get a pic since the first time I saw it. Also, look for when Izzy gets an ace, GG bear hug lifts her off the ground.

When Franklin got an ace this past weekend, I looked to see if GG would try to pick her up. No such luck, darn it. :-)
