Yes Robinson. I’m losing my mind. Demps shared the opposite spot with Smrek.

We also did not get COVID in Columbus, but we were very lucky. Exuberance after the win took us to several bars celebrating without masks. Without trying to be reckless, we literally forgot about Covid for a few hours, which was in retrospect one of the best things this championship brought us.

I think those that didn't get COVID there it was combination of behavior and luck. Of course, I think that's how it is now too. But I do agree, it's a combination of case counts and precautions and what the science tells us then (plus whether I want to drive 16 hours round trip for one match. Two matches would be nice). Are you really already trying to plan for August? Wisconsin could get hit by a hurricane before then...or the latest COVID-19 variant could be birthed in Kentucky....

Yes Robinson. I’m losing my mind. Demps shared the opposite spot with Smrek. Still wrong. Demps played the back row nearly exclusively. Smrek would stay on the right.

Just watched a couple plays in the beginning of the NC match and Demps does sub in and play right back for Smrek. Smrek is the opposite, across of Hilley, but Demps comes in for her, which in itself is a smart move because you get solid defense and an attacker in Demps out of the back row.

I have really lost what the point of your comments here is. Are you still asking about who will play in the middle, or are you trying to make some semantic point about what "opposite" means, literally and/or colloquially?

I’m just answering respective questions. I confused the crowd with a badly typed question, but to answer your question; yes, I’d like to know who is on the outside looking in - Hart, Robinson, or Crawford?

I’m just answering respective questions. I confused the crowd with a badly typed question, but to answer your question; yes, I’d like to know who is on the outside looking in - Hart, Robinson, or Crawford? Robinson will be on the floor somewhere, as will Smrek. One will nominally be a middle and the other will be on the right. Though when they were on the floor at the same time later on this past season, they would often swap positions and duties 'on the fly'. The 'Demps as backrow attack specialist' experiment worked so well that it is hard to imagine they won't at least try to continue it, whether she is subbing for Robinson or Smrek. But part of what made it work was that Demps could be freed of true DS responsibilities because she had Civita and Barnes back there with her for two of the three rotations. What was a winning tactic this past year might not be as effective with Boyer and McDonald (or whoever) trying to replace Civita and Barnes. And whether Wrobel is ready to replace Loberg could also affect how the other roles are filled. And we don't really know how ready Hart will be come August/September. So the answer is "it depends... nobody really knows". (To be fully accurate, Demps was with Barnes and Civita for 1 and 1/2 rotations; the other half-rotation, Izzy was in serving for Barnes/Rettke.)

I sit on the opposite side of the court from the Badgers. Does that make me an opposite?
