Made me happy to se the top comments on her Insta post were excited and congratulatory notes from her Badgers teammates. And her nickname is John or Johnny.

And her nickname is John or Johnny. That one did throw me a bit. UW head football coach during the 1970s, John Jardine. I assume his name is displayed prominently somewhere in the bowels of Camp Randall - something, some room named after him? - and the players saw it and latched onto it.

Very happy for Jardine. That should opeqn up a scholarship for 2023 or 2024. Is anyone else on this board anticipating a big recruiting haul in 2024?

The first piece of the schedule is now known.
Sept 9/10 - at Kentucky, with Indiana State.

Wisconsin and UK probably wanna spend most of that week preparing for each other and so scheduling an opponent like that for the other match let’s them do that

My guess on the reason the date isn’t solidified is that UW is trying to find another geographically close opponent and that isn’t settled, so UK is holding both days as possible at the moment. They have done that before with Texas A&M and Texas. Kentucky did it with Wisconsin last year doing a Madison and Marquette weekend where they played both teams at their home gyms.

I assume that means a three-team weekend in Lexington, where Indiana State will get stuck playing two matches one day against UW and Kentucky, and UW and Kentucky will play one another the other day. Wisconsin-Texas-High Point a few years ago, eg.

I was thinking of it more along what Wisconsin did Haggerty's freshman year... they went to the state of Texas and played @ Texas A&M and @ Texas a few days apart. Haggerty won national POW that week for her record setting performance against TAM.
Last year, Kentucky played in Madison on Friday and drove over and played in Milwaukee (Marq) on Saturday.
Maybe UW is playing Indiana State, but my money would be on a match @ Kentucky and then maybe @ WKU or @ a close-by P5 conference school that makes the tournament regularly...
That second match date/opponent probably isn't finalized, so they are showing both dates as options at this point. If this was a 3 team tournament already established, I'm sure they would just show the one date.

Has anyone heard anything about MJ? She appeared to be in a boot and riding on one of those scooter things you would use with a leg injury.

There was an event at the Kohl Center recently where people could get selfies with the players and the Championship Trophy. There was 100% the scoooter thing, and MJ was definitely the one kneeling on it, despite being there with Danielle Hart (an ACL injury wouldn’t require one of these scooters, I don’t think).
I saw MJ, Robinson, & CC at the Dane County Farmers Market a couple weeks ago, so whatever happened, it was fairly recent.
