Last season’s SEC champ took a huge hit on overall talent. MSU came in 2nd and is bringing back virtually all of their offensive production including Waden and Robinson. Lost one half of their setter duo and replaced her with a transfer from Penn State. Also added to their defense with a libero transfer from Troy. Last season they were figuring out how to win on the fly. Going into this season, they will KNOW. I expect big things from MSU and the more people that doubt them and consider last season a fluke, the better. *On Paper, they’re the best TEAM in the SEC. Great thing is, we can speculate all we want, these ladies actually get to go out there and do something about it. #HailState "Last season’s SEC champ took a huge hit on overall talent." They still have the BEST setter in the conference...take a look at history and see if that has mattered I don't know in the last... Forever...not only at the SEC level but at the national level. Until a team comes along with a better option at setter than UK, they'll still sit at the top or share the top crown with X team. That's all. Setter and libero

Anyone hear what format games will have in the fall? Stick to back-to-back or return to pre-Covid format? I read the Big-12 returning to old format in another thread.

Updated to include some staff changes of note on the Plains - looks like two new assistants will need to be hired at Auburn. Dunphy moving to Stanford. Moller ... not sure? His old AU bio indicates that his wife began an orthopedic surgery residency in Columbus, GA (~ an hour from Auburn) in 2019, and those residencies are usually 5 years.

The USAV coaching list also made me go and check the Ole Miss staff, and it seems that Beau is no longer listed there, either. So Banwarth will also be replacing both assistants for next year (though one, Bre Henry, is already on board).

Ole Miss coaching staff now has Brad Creamer as the other Assistant Coach with the added title of Recruiting Coordinator.

Looks like 9 up and comers headed to the SEC from VolleyMags Fab 50 list. Talent levels continue to rise in the SEC.

Is 9 a lot? More than recent years?

Only went back 5 years, but it's the most in that time span. 5 non-UK/UF players has to be the most in a long time, if not ever.
2021 - 8. Kentucky 4, Florida 3, Missouri 1 2020 - 8. Kentucky 4, Florida 3, LSU 1 2019 - 3. Kentucky 1, LSU 1, Texas A&M 1 2018 - 8. Florida 5, Auburn 1, Kentucky 1, LSU 1 2017 - 6. Kentucky 3, Florida 1, LSU 1, South Carolina 1

I said this on the the other thread, but I like that this list was selected by D1 coaches and not journalists. Coaches know what they are looking for and have watched these and other girls for many years and have a good sense who the impact players are on their current teams as well as their future college teams. And no club PR influencing the rankings.
