Lednicky made a statement today for A&M. The rest of the SEC, beware. She's good! I was very impressed. Already carrying a big load for this team The Hawaii fans were very complimentary of Lednicky. Nice to see a freshman starting so well.

SC was shaky but to be expected with McCutcheon just back from injury. Moorman had a great weekend. Agree and I think this was evident in match 1 versus Sacred Heart. I thought they looked really good against Omaha (usually a Top 50 team) sweeping them. Serving was the obvious area that could improve, but I think this team has a lot of upside. Looking forward to see how they stack up against the ACC this weekend. The ramp up this season is slow but they finish the preseason and start conference play with Miami, Oregon, UF and UF. That stretch will tell us about this team.

Tennessee was without Mahaffey, but I think it was a bit more than that. Runnels as a grad student was better than Soph Lovett is (no shade to Lovett, who is talented), and UT thought they would have both Bell and Mahaffey in the middle for most of the spring. Then Bell medically retired and now Mahaffey is on crutches (not sure when she's expected back), so they're playing with two brand new MBs. I still like the talent on Tennessee's roster, though. Anyone know how long Mahaffey is going to be out? Tennessee will be fine, but definitely did a lot of shuffling this weekend. The loss of Bell and Mahaffey definitely hurt. The team overall is young, but I think they will find their stride. Mahaffey in a boot and on crutches. I'm guessing she will be out several weeks, but don't know for sure.

Arkansas has a surprisingly easy time of it in their first match in Fort Collins, sweeping the host Rams -27, -16, -11.
Hogs didn't play very clean in the first set, but they still pulled it out. Once they cleaned it up in sets 2/3, CSU had no answer.
Nice road win for the Hogs!

Wait just one minute...A Dawg and a War Eagle?? And no Wildcats?? The SEC Office is losing its mind!! I get it's a joke, but I was curious and looked it up. 9/14 weeks last season had at least one Wildcat win a weekly award, and most of em were setter or freshman otw. 6/14 weeks an Auburn Tiger won one, 6/14 weeks a MSU Bulldog won one, no Georgia bulldogs won any weekly awards (the only school to not win any), and for the sake of comparison, a Florida player won an award 7/14 weeks and Tennessee 5/14 weeks.

Arkansas's attackers hit well and their block stepped up after set 1. I thought it would be more of a battle. Good win for the Razorbacks!

Wanting to know if this is a common theme in the SEC with coaches encouraging ADHD testing and other medication use for weight loss purposes? Rumors abound on the Plains with this theme the last few years with direct insults, body-shaming and harassment of players. As a former SEC player who ended up in the hospital with an eating disorder - I’m horrified to hear that this is acceptable behavior from our coaches.
