SC's rough start to the year continues, dropping a 5-setter to Clemson (who over the weekend lost to The Citadel in 5). According to the well-validated transitive property of volleyball results, the 2-4 College of Charleston, who beat The Citadel 3-0 in week 1, is the best team in South Carolina this year. I have confidence in the Fightin' Mendozas to get better as the year goes on, though. I think last weekend was rough for Clemson bc they were missing setter Slavik. Their #2 setter just can't run the court like Slavik does. SC has not had a good showing thus far. Hope it gets better for the Cocks or it's going to be a looong season.

I thought they played perhaps their most complete match ever under Mendoza today. Carolina hit .486 at as a team. Cincy isn't great but they did take 2 sets off Pitt and 1 off BYU earlier this season. I didn't expect Carolina to sweep both matches this weekend. Bottom line for Carolina is they are a completely different team at home compared to on the road. Need to pick it up when away from home.

Arkansas hands the CU Buffs their fist loss of the season in rather dominant fashion. -20, -16, -14.

Rooting for Arkansas to places top 3 in the SEC and hand both Florida and Kentucky a loss.

Rotting for Arkansas to places top 3 in the SEC and hand both Florida and Kentucky a loss. got plenty of chances for that as they host Kentucky for two matches and go to Florida for two more they were so close last season as they pushed kentucky to five both times, and took florida to extra points in the fifth once

I read in the Undefeated/Defeated thread that Rath from Auburn is injured. Does anyone have any info on her prognosis? Could be a tough blow for the Tigers if she's out for long.

There don't seem to be tons of Fr getting a lot of playing time on other rosters. Maybe Granberry at Tennessee? Borellis at Ole Miss?

I think Lednicky is early leader.

SEC FOY is Stucky’s to lose. Hell she’ll probably be competing, if not winning, setter of the year if things go in Florida’s favor

The Hogs and UGA take down the ACC teams in the first night of the Arkansas Challenge (which is basically an ACC-SEC challenge).
UGA sweeps the Wolfpack. Hogs take down GT 3-1.
Ark-NC State tomorrow; UGA vs GA Tech on Saturday in Stegeman.
