LSU really took a major step forward. I had them sixth going into the conference slate with them bunched with Miss State TAMU Tennessee as likely above the next group but they win twice against Tier 1 teams over the weekend. Huge leg up after week one.
Who gets player awards this week ?? Caroline Meuth had a huge week for TAMU but they dropped their final contest in a sweep by Tennessee

LSU will not be in rankings this week: they may get votes: but they are only a top 40 team now and in the hunt for at large bid to ncaa: they will need consecutive weeks of this weekends performance to get top 25! |

Wed vs Mizzou - hit .667 and 15 kills Sat vs TAMU - 18 kills Sun vs TAMU - hit .441 and double-double - 18 kills + 10 digs |

I think 11 of the 13 teams are still in contention to make the tournament (everyone but Ole Miss and Alabama).

Watched some of the AU-Bama matches this weekend. AU is better than I anticipated, but man, Bama looked awful. Real problems in first contact and, tbh, second contact. I hope they can keep rounding into shape as the season moves forward.

Noted in the "WTF Auburn" thread that Rebekah Rath is no longer on the AU volleyball roster, and her player profile returns a 404 error. Anyone know what happened there? Sources confirm she quit. One said it was probably the best decision for her mental health. |

I do think it’s funny how many people are totally against them though. And give them NO credit whatsoever. Granted they started the season with easier matches…but considering they are rebuilding still, why would they start against strong teams? Better to build confidence going in to SEC play. I don’t think they’ll be a top conference team when it’s all over. But I do think they’re improving. |
