I wonder if Watson is even nominating his players. I have no truck with Stucky or Dotson, but Courtney Jackson's numbers are notably better than McKissock's (which are very good). McKissock - 4.25 d/s Jackson - 5.0 d/s. Both teams played two matches. Both teams played 8 sets. Both teams played a highly ranked team and beat them. Jackson got 18 digs vs GA Tech (4 sets) and 22 vs NC State (also 4 sets). Congrats to McKissock - I thought she played very well. But I have to say, I don't get it. 100% agree - Jackson is a top libero and a huge part of Arkansas’ success. I think we will see more attention sent her way as conference play progresses Jackson is really good but she also has two legit 6-rotation OH's around her in Head and Gillen to make her job easier. Gillen has upped her passing/defensive game big time and Head has always been solid all-around. I actually think another key to Arkansas's success has been their blocking. They are stuffing more opponents or at least slowing down shots. Happy to see their success and am interested to see how they line up with teams like Florida in the conference, as that's the best way to really compare.

Noted in the "WTF Auburn" thread that Rebekah Rath is no longer on the AU volleyball roster, and her player profile returns a 404 error.
Anyone know what happened there?

Why we insist on handing out these individual awards in team sports is mind-boggling. If any team in the SEC wants to win player of the week honors, I say let ‘em have them. Focus on the big prize, Gators, which is winning the SEC, getting a top-16 seed in the tournament and doing damage in December.

Yeah, all of the things people observed about Arkansas previously seemed to go to the pooper last night. Very few good touches at the net, lots of flat-footed play. Gillen seemed to have a lot of fire but I didn't see a lot from many others on the court. LSU played well but I agree that making pre-mature calls on teams can be a jinx. That's why they have to play the matches. Weekly performances or awards don't mean a heck of a lot if the team isn't performing as a whole.

I agree that making pre-mature calls on teams can be a jinx. ... Wonders... Is it a jinx on the teams or a jinx on the opinions...

Texas A&M is 2-0 in SEC play after back-to-back 5-set wins against Ole Miss and Tennessee. The Ags were down 2 sets to 1 in both matches.

Congrats to LSU for its first two big conference wins in the Johnson Era. A chance to make it 3 tomorrow if lighting can strike twice vs. UK!
