Those are the two biggest takeaways from Robyn Ah Mow’s first fall practice in 2017 through Tuesday’s opening of two-a-days. “Some say I’m getting soft,” the Hawai’i women’s volleyball coach said. “No, I’m not.” But there was a gentler Ah Mow seen Tuesday in Gym I than the, shall we say, less-than-pleased version six seasons ago. The three-time Olympian and Wahine All-American setter does not suffer certain things lightly, the biggest of which is someone not being prepared to work hard from Day 1. Her first official glimpse of that readiness came early during the team’s predawn mile run on the campus track. I like Cowells confidence as well, also she was not being cocky about it saying she will be starting she said she will help the team in whatever aspect that will be. I think she is great for the culture and has a lot of pride and honor to play for her home. I think its a great thing to see. I am excited to see if she elevates her game!

"This year, the 10 returnees off last year’s 22-8 team had a full spring to work on their skills and got together in open gym workouts to develop some chemistry within a roster that adds six newcomers this season." Matias, Alexander, Edmonds, Cowell, Evans, and who's the sixth? Also, all of the 10 returnees are accounted for. |
