Exactly! Men hit higher, faster, and stronger so if the women can keep up with them while they are running plays similar to how other top women’s teams play across the country, it only gives them the opportunity to get better and stronger while improving on speed and movement, etc! And I’ll just say…if Nebraska is doing it maybe everyone should think about doing it as well if possible 😘🫠 I doubt very much that Nebraska is the first to do this. I recall a few years back when Shoji was coaching that UH did something similar. They got a bunch of guys who played in the UH intramural league and had them scrimmage the Wahine. I remembered because practices used to be open and I used to peek into the gym and check out practices. Robyn is more secretive and close practices...except for boosters and UH media personnel. I have no doubt other schools do something similar. They just don't advertise it or video tape it for public consumption like Nebraska does.

True but I never said that Nebraska did it first but they are/have been implementing (at least what has been shown in videos) recently. I’m sure many other programs do it to because it’s a smart thing to do. Heck we did it when I was playing and it was literally the best thing ever

It's not a consistent training used because of multiple factors. The liability exposure for one.

The liability and also because it does take away practice minutes from nearly half the roster. I definitely don’t think it should be used all the time, just to clarify. But implemented smartly for sure

Also, UH have now 3 “young” males on the staff so if there are times where Robyn wants the girls to face hard hits, she can put Kaleo, Nick and Sky on the other side of the net and blast balls at the girls.

If done right, women playing men during practice helps a ton! Men will always be faster and stronger so if the women can experience that on the court it’ll be helpful. What I mean by done right is that the men will have to run patterns that a womens team would run and/or just keep the offense simple. It cannot be a sh1t show out there where the men are there to play around. It’s all about making that womens team better. Exactly! Men hit higher, faster, and stronger so if the women can keep up with them while they are running plays similar to how other top women’s teams play across the country, it only gives them the opportunity to get better and stronger while improving on speed and movement, etc! Women can’t keep up with men. They video you posted shows it and those were just regular dudes. Can you imagine Robyn bringing Dimi, Spyros, Chaz, and Voss over to help her team get better? 😂

It’s a given that they could if they wanted to, but that’s not the point of the drill. The best women hitters in the NCAA, like Eggleston, Bergman, Gray, etc., can all hit high, fast, and probably even strong like them at that pace. So being able to practice against that is a good way to see where your players stack up against that kind of competition. It gives those players the opportunity to improve and get to that level by getting a feel of what it would be like to play with the best of the best.
