Rutherford is not the answer on the leftside. We literally don't have any answer on the left side right now lol. Y'all cray to be writing anything off. She has no confidence hitting on the leftside. She rarely took a full swing hitting from the left.

I feel like Niego could be a nice option for Kentucky to go after for a new L1 moreso than a replacement starter they need depth I like Niego more than Felts or Edwards. But I imagine Lamb plays L1, given the little we've seen of her. I don't understand how we need depth more than a starter though, when we literally don't have a starter. well I think you've laid out options that Kentucky can throw together, but obviously you want to recruit a starter I just meant that at the bare minimum, Kentucky needs depth in case one of their hitters go down, but they obviously will be looking for a player of starting caliber

So the one experienced pin we have and you purpose to put her in a different position where she hasn't been successful. I would rather see Tealer move to left and make Rutherford a 6 rotation OPP and hitting out of the backrow as well. Work on her out of system swings.

Are you forgetting where Tealer played first at UK? And how successful has Tealer been on the left? I'm not proposing anything, btw. I don't understand definitive statements about a team that has no clear answer. I'm just not entirely convinced that "Lamb (L1), Rutherford (L2), Tealer (OPP)" is worse than "Tealer (L1?), Lamb (L2), Rutherford (OPP)." I think that Rutherford on the left + Tealer on the right might give us more offense than Tealer on the left + Rutherford on the right, mainly because Tealer might be that much better on the right.

When Tealer was a freshman and played OPP, when Cooper was injured, there were occasions when she hit on the left. She was more comfortable there than Rutherford is. Not all lefties are able or comfortable hitting from the left side. I wish she could emulate Dani Drew's but she hasn't shown it yet.

I think there are 3 options that have some likelihood of happening: 1. Transfer + Lamb on the left, Rutherford on the right, Tealer stays in the middle (with Williams/Bell/Goetz) 2. Lamb + Tealer on the left, Rutherford on the right, Williams/Bell/Goetz in the middle 3. Lamb + Rutherford on the left, Tealer on the right, Williams/Bell/Goetz in the middle Given there is no confirmed transfer and no one in the portal who IMO starts at UK, I think it's difficult to say #1 is "likely." I promise you, #1 is likely. Tealer can not hit out of system whatsoever and would also get completely abused in off-blocker defense. She has trouble accurately passing a free ball with her platform. Tealer will stay where she is and would be on the right long before she’d be on the left. Many players in the portal would be a better option on the left

Weatherington doesnt seem like she'd be a good fit for Kentucky either, just style-wise. Buzzerio (I think) was a passing oppo which would be cool but again I don't see that fitting Kentucky. they probably want/need a six-rotation OH2 imho.

A 6 rotation opp would hurt if they’re better than Rutherford. She’s good but not great and we lose Tharp and stumler, aside from walker no reliable ds on the roster so rutherfords back row will be interesting.

my new theory (that no one asked for) is that Kentucky could try to get DeLeye to graduate early the way Eggleston did for Texas. I have absolutely zero idea if this is feasible or not.

I trust Kentucky to work their backrow/passing magic with at least one of Lamb/Rutherford lol

So Texas gets Jordan Larson, Madi and Fleck. We get Jewell(no offense). I'm getting sad about next season.
