I'm obviouisly biased, as an optimistic fan, but I do take some heart from the fact that after they seemingly got their minds into the match, in the third set, they competed well. They still are prone to too many errors (of multiple kinds). But they avoided those against Oregon and Stanford (although lately, not so much) so there's hope.

I've been burned by Penn State too many times in my 34 years as a fan. Burned too many times? More like spoiled too much. Jerritt Elliott would give a left arm for 7 out of 10. I know exactly what he means. I was a fan of Ted Williams ( en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Williams ), but that guy really was soooo lame. He burned me 656 times out of a thousand -- he only batted .344, lifetime. What a loser. |
