None of the results look too surprising from today (other than how poorly Seton Hall played this weekend) what did surprise me (when getting to the schedule) is for some reason the BEast has a league of legends thing? why lol www.bigeast.com/calendar.aspx?path=esports

Was hoping the Big East tourney times would be such that one could bounce back and forth between those games in Omaha and the NE games vs MN and WI in Lincoln, but oh well. How is it determined who hosts the tourney ?

Then it goes to #2. This policy was put in place since the 2016 tournament at Butler, who had not won the previous regular season. Creighton won the 2021 regular season. They did not host the tournament in 2021 (Marquette did), so they host this season.

Speaking of the BE tournament, KBB has said the field was expanded from 4 teams to 6 this year in order to compensate for the newly unbalanced league schedule, to "make sure we get the right teams." She said she would probably be in favor of expanding to 8 teams, to be even more sure of getting the right teams into the field.
The top two regular season finishers are rewarded with byes in the quarterfinal round.
Creighton's "magic number" for clinching a spot in the 2022 BET is currently at 2 (1 if the victory is over SH), and Marquette is also at 2 (due to owning tiebreaker over SH).

Another way of essentially saying Marquette and Creighton alternate, which makes sense.

I really don’t like this model and hope now with expanded teams in the tourney they go back to rotating the host school each year. BE has schools in so many cool cities that they could showcase.

Disagree…the winner of the regular season should be rewarded and be ale to play home the week before the NCAA tournament begins-it should also reward the fans of the host team so they can have a home weekend before the tournament. If this tournament is in DC or New York, what would the crowd sizes be? If you want to host. . . Win.
