Alright, there’s about 2 Arizona fans on here (me included) but I’m starting this anyways. I’ll give a positional breakdown, sorted by class and how many years of eligibility they have left at this point. * will mean projected starter as of now with no roster changes.
Pins: Dilara Gedikoglu, Sr. (2 years of eligibility left) *Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Jr. (3 years of eligibility left) *Jaelyn Hodge, Jr. (3 years of eligibility left) *Puk Stubbe, So. (3 years of eligibility left) Lauren Rumel, Fr. (4 years of eligibility left, has trained at both pin and middle)
Middles: *Zyonna Fellows, Gr. (1 year of eligibility left) Lauren Ware, Jr. (2 years of eligibility left) *Alayna Johnson, So. (3 years of eligibility left) Nicole Briggs, So. (3 years of eligibility left) China Rai Crouch, So./Jr., (technically 4 years of eligibility left? I guess? Also there are rumors she will be training at opposite so keep that in mind)
Setters: *Emery Herman, Jr. (3 years of eligibility left) Ava Tortorello, So. (3 years of eligibility left) Ana Heath, Fr. (4 years of eligibility left, also plays right side)
Liberos: *Kamaile Hiapo, Sr. (2 years of eligibility left) Jaleesa Caroccio, Jr. (3 years of eligibility left) Joy Galles, Jr. (3 years of eligibility left) Madison Ellman, So. (3 years of eligibility left) Haven Wray, So. (3 years of eligibility left) Kaori Robertson, Fr. (4 years of eligibility left)
Incoming freshmen Ana Heath, Lauren Rumel, and Kaori Robertson joined the team for the Spring. Assistant coaching job was filled by Lauren Plum, who is no longer with the program according to socials, so there hypothetically would be a assistant coaching job open at the moment. I doubt any sort of official job posting will be listed again and will most likely be handled quietly. Simone Overbeck and Jennifer Wroblicky have medically retired and will not be back with the team. Zyonna Fellows will be returning to the team for her fifth year. China Rai Crouch will officially be joining the team in the Fall.

Okay looking at the poll votes, 8/11 votes for bottom 4? I don’t see Arizona being worse than Cal, Oregon St, Colorado, and ASU. Utah and Washington St will take significant steps back as well, although maybe not behind Arizona.

Okay, I voted middle. Seems reasonable given where they ended up last season. Do you think you'll move up a spot or two next year at end of the season?

With Pukis and Tusa gone, we may be able to move past them. Utah will be interesting because they’re probably always in a play for a transfer, but they’ve lost SKT, Koerber, Drews, and Weatherington now just in 2021 (calendar year). We’ll see if Robinson and Stef stick around. I hate to say this but whether we take a step forward or not all depends on the outsides. They need to manage their swings better and will have to take a pretty big step forward passing. If they don’t, unless Dave subs them out backrow, I don’t see how passing improves.

Hiapo and Herman are both above average floor defenders. I won’t argue against weak blocking, it’s drives me nuts too, but it didn’t seem to kill us in game as much as passing and us erroring ourselves out. I think I touched on setting somewhere in a different thread where I said Herman’s location and decisions were inconsistent, but she shouldn't lose the starting job which means we need our outsides to manage their swings better (even if it’s not fair to them) because they were often taken full rips at bad sets and hitting them way out or into the block. Not a lot of Pac 12 teams have a great middle attack so I’m never too worried on that, but yes the middle attack this year will certainly be rough with two new starters, hope we secure a transfer. I feel like I ripped into Rubio a little bit the other day so I won’t do that again, but I don’t disagree with you there either.

Any word on China Crouch? Is she expected to return to Arizona?

Any word on China Crouch? Is she expected to return to Arizona? She had to take this past season off for medical reasons, but I’m not sure she returns. Would be the second middle recruit he’s lost completely after not even a whole season (Lauren Ware, although she plays basketball). I’m assuming she doesn’t since Rubio is adamant about getting a middle from the portal. I don’t think he would want 6 middles on the roster at one time.

Hypothetically speaking…if Skinner transfers to Texas, I’d love to see Parra transfer to Arizona and play with her friend Maldonado. That would be a fun lineup to watch.
I’m an Arizona native and have been following Arizona volleyball since 2001. Lived in Texas since 2006 (Austin 2015-Current). Love Texas VB but still root for AZ.

Knowledge is power, and since I didn't know much about Arizona, I'm feeling more of it now. Who are your 2022s coming in? I think I've seen some commits from my area, SoCal.
