Is Cisneros (sp) expected to start? I know she had an injury but from what I understand, she’s Arizona’s best pin recruit in a VERY long time It's a lot to put on her and I will talk to Rita after spring practice, but my guess is she will Carly needs to be on the court day one. She is polished and has been dominating against top end open talent for several years. She is super competitive and largely unflappable. She's ready.

I know she had an injury but from what I understand, she’s Arizona’s best pin recruit in a VERY long time if she doesn’t I would have very, very serious questions. the ONLY question would be if she libs like Brooke did her first season since we don’t really have a good lib at the moment. but even then I’d rather get her used to hitting against NCAA blocking. this group likely isn’t going to be making some huge tournament push. lineup should be something like Cisneros/Wilson (DS Mandotti/Wray) Johnson/Briggs (possibly Bridges or Tucker over Briggs) Heath/Hodge Mandotti or Wray in the three rotations Wilson is in, Hodge should pass for her. Wilson cannot pass at all but I like her hitting from the left and Hodge has an insane contact point from the right Do you think Cisneros will be DS’d or do you think she’ll be a solid enough to play 6 ro?

Do you think Cisneros will be DS’d or do you think she’ll be a solid enough to play 6 ro? the whole point of Cisneros is that she brings us passing. there’s no way she plays 3 rotations. she should step on the court and be a better passer than all of our pins. that’s why I even suggested the only way she isn’t starting on the outside is if she’s libero for a year LOL

She isn’t the tallest or the most athletic, so she will have to be scrappy and tool the block efficiently to score.

I am still worried about Jaelyn's foot. She sat out last spring and part of fall. She will sit out again this spring. I saw her at a women's basketball event on Tuesday. She’s not just in a boot. She’s on a knee scooter.

She’s on a knee scooter. I feel like all the more reason for her to go back to opposite. if she ever can’t go, you just put in Vanek for her on the right side where she’s training anyways. establish Cisneros and Wilson+DS as the outside duo and go from there

Carly will definitely need to continue to evolve, but girl is a pure scorer with an array of shots and tools beyond her age. That’s what I mean when I call her “polished”. She’s not just a bundle of measurables and athleticism, like a lot of high end recruits. That said, she does touch over 10’, has long arms, and hits from an unusually high angle of attack. So she gets good downward trajectory on big swings and also hits ridiculously sharp cuts shots. I think she’s been the best all-around player in her age group since 14’s. And if UofA can add a little meat to her frame, sky’s the limit.

Anyone going to be there for spring ball and feel like letting us know how it goes? We have talked elsewhere, but I will add what I saw here for others' sake. I was there for most of it. I had to leave shortly into the UA-ASU game because both Arizona women's basketball and Arizona gymnastics were competing in the postseason. I needed somewhere I could pay attention to both, and McKale was not that place. So, I saw like the last half of the game against New Mexico State and all of the game against UTEP. I stayed for the first 6 or so points of ASU. Carlie looks fine. She scored. She defended. She passed. She has her injured hand wrapped. Got our first look at Tess since she was injured last year. Looks promising. Syd was there. I wasn't sure if she would be since track was competing, but she was. I also didn't originally see her. Servers were picking on Jordan, as per usual. She is still struggling there. Journey played a lot. She's still a work in progress in the middle, but she's at least trying to score. Still needs confidence, but she's learning. Haven and Ava played libero. Giorgia and Kylie just DS'd while I was there and actively paying attention. Can't remember if I saw Kenzie play. Biggest surprise was how much Sofia played considering she's off to Louisville after the semester. She came in late in the NMSU game. She sat out the UTEP game, but she started the ASU game. That would seem to be the game you want the players who will be around playing in. ASU was the best team there. That's what they need to prepare for. Who cares if they're ready for NMSU or UTEP? They need to be ready for the kind of teams they'll face in conference play. Seemed like a great opportunity for them to get the work in against better competition.

We play BYU, TCU, Baylor and ASU in the first five games lol. That’ll be a nice way to ease into conference play…… NOT.
