Aren’t Cisneros and Wilson both #1 recruits?

give me Cisneros/Wilson Robey/Johnson Scoggins/Hodge Wray idk how I feel about a DS at this point. I don’t think mandotti can pass well enough to change our offense so I’m not sure I want to take out backrow attacking options bc we use them out of system a lot I would love a more established libero, but I think your lineup is the way to go. Just hide Wilson in serve receive. trust me, I would too. I wanted UTRGV’s sooooo bad. just wasn’t in the cards. if we can just pass around a 2.05 or something this season that would be great. Wray should be able to extend rallies better than Joy did. passing isn’t as good, but with Carlie coming hopefully we get some passing stability from a pin alongside her

Aren’t Cisneros and Wilson both #1 recruits? I think Wilson ended as #3 in the final rankings, and Cisneros was #1 for a while but I also think she dropped after her hand injury. but yes, no matter what they were both top 3-5 recruits.

Getting Robey is a great get. Might be hard to set her much if passing isn't great, but she is a force at the net.

Write-up on Kiari's signing. Very happy for Rita that she pulled this off. Whatever the passing situation, blocking was a big need for Arizona. As I wrote in this, last year Nicole Briggs at 0.77 b/s was their best blocker. That number's not great, but they didn't even have that coming back. AJ prefers offense to blocking, so I am just not sure what to expect from her as far as improvement there. Journey was better as a blocker than on offense, but she's still young and very inexperienced. Also don't know what Adrianna Bridges will bring as a freshman.

A new recruiting cycle is upon us! What positions are we trying to fill on the 2026 roster?
We lose Jordan Wilson, Ana Heath and possibly Amanda Dewitt after the 2025 season. With a 2025 setter already committed, is it safe to assume we will be focusing on an OH and Middle? Possibly a walk on DS?
Future 2026 roster:
OH: Sydnie Vanek (Sr.), Carlie Cisneros (Jr.), An den Hamer (So.), Renee Jones (So.), Paige Thies (So.) Middle: Journey Tucker (Sr.), Adrianna Bridges (Jr.), Maya Flemister (So.) Setter: Avery Scoggins (Jr.), Chloe Giehtbrock (So.) Libero: Giorgia Mandotti (Sr.), Brenna Ginder (Jr.), Brookelyn Hatton (So.)

Hopefully Syd develops enough to play one or the other at this level. With Renée's size, I could see her playing in the middle if they got into a pinch, but I hope she sticks at opp. When did Arizona have a 6'5" opp?

Idk if Renee can play in the middle since she’s left handed. She kind of reminds me of China Crouch, who played a blend of opposite and middle before she came to AZ. I like Sydnie better than An or Renee if I’m honest, idk if she can actually score consistently enough playing opposite though

Rita told me flat out that Syd wouldn't be playing opp, at least this season. She said it didn't work in spring.
China came in as an opp, but they had a need at MB her freshman year.
I didn't realize Renée was a lefty. Haven't seen much film on her.
