Hey eyeroll, I see where the two Texas games and Oklahoma's single game are played in Austin and Norman respectively. Seems like a smart move to me. Playing at altitude can ruin a teams season. I have been curious about how Texas will do without Logan Eggleston. I know your team is loaded, but is there someone with her refuse to lose willpower? After the Final Four first set, she is the one who took over the game. (My opinion) Repeats are usually because the same personnel return. Good luck this year! I’ll have to disagree; she struggled that whole game. Skinner was our saving grace.

She contributed offensively and defensively. Curious to know what other Longhorns think.

You do know that Texas and OU have been in the Big 12 And playing each other for yonks, right? The altitude of Norman, OK is not a problem LOL.

If you look at the conference schedule posted on your Texas thread it shows BYU playing both schools at their lower altitudes. Most programs do not like playing at BYU's 4,600 ft elevation. That is why I said OK & TX were smart to schedule the games at their homesites. Next year they will be in the SEC and they won't have to worry about altitude.

Texas played against Colorado for years when they were in the Big 12, and yes, the altitude was always a factor for various Texas teams. But it's not like Colorado dominated the conference (nor have they dominated the Pac 12) so other factors end up being more important. I can tell you that the Big 12 conference scheduling office isn't going out of their way to do Texas any huge favors. Nonetheless, it is good from a competitive standpoint that BYU is coming to Austin rather than Texas heading to Provo. I wish they could have done a home and home, but the league office decided for various reasons (I'm sure limiting travel costs and travel grind with new entrants from Utah to Orlando) to do 2 matches in one location for many of the matches, and then single matches for the others with no return trip. I'm at least glad they decided the BYU Texas series deserved two matches rather than one. I'll say this. BYU has had UT's number in football. But that's in both Provo and Austin, so altitude hasn't been as big a factor as BYU's football team simply being better. And there's a history with BYU volleyball, too, but again I feel like that's been less about altitude and more about two great programs facing each other. I'm excited about the upcoming two matches this season.

Elliott actually shifted UT's rotation slightly so that Eggleston would also get some chances there. But Blossom was completely overmatched when trying to block either Skinner or Eggleston. The biggest factor to me was UT's ability to serve USD tough, and USD's inability to get Texas out of system for the most part. That was the story of the tournament for me. Last year's Texas team simply had too many weapons if you couldn't get them out of system. When SKT barely has to move because Texas passers are dropping dimes, that's trouble. USD was very talented, and Blossom was one of the nation's most valuable players, but she's a liability on the front row and Texas exploited that repeatedly.

I won't be upset if you give me your best eye roll!

There’s incoming FR setter-Tatum Lane Thank you for the Lane info. I thought I had read every recruiting story and missed that one. She committed in June of 2022. It makes sense that they signed her since there are no sophomore or junior setters. If I am correct there is one more scholarship to fill. May it be for another perfect fit!

Actually, a FR MB Liv Hertzog also committed. I’m not sure if she starts this year or 2024
