Minneapolis would draw a good crowd. Especially with MN natives playing on the NT

It would probably sell poorly. I imagine it would do way better than Shreveport, so I disagree. The amount of tickets sold just to international fans because they can visit NYC as part of the trip would probably outsell Shreveport from this year.

I wish I know it would be super niche but what do y'all think the crowd would be like if they hosted a VNL round and/or finals in a place like NYC? Idk if they would be able to do Madison Square Garden but I feel like Barclay's in Brooklyn would be awesome. I'm sure it would be hella expensive but wouldn't it be a super cool experience for the players and fans? I think there would be a nice crowd on hand.

Hosting in NYC or any other major metropolitan area that contains a large international presence will definitely out-sell Shreveport, even if you barred USA fans from the arena. Just look at any time VNL Men's hosted in Chicago and how the Polish and Iranian fans came out in force. Or any time USA hosted China women in Southern California, and Chinese fans quintupled the amount of USA fans in the stands.
You just need to host somewhere that has a foreign presence and you'll sell tickets. Just, not to Americans. They'll be too busy watching old highlights of the NFL Combine 40 yard dash.
Or, you know, they could also sell the tickets for a non-insane price. Tickets were far too expensive in Shreveport for a market that barely knows volleyball is a sport.

Or Serbian fans in Chicago (that's the one men's event I went to and I was part annoyed but mostly impressed by how loud they were). Has there been an event in Chicago that DIDN'T draw a big contingent of fans from foreign teams ?

I thought about going to Calgary. It was three grand wither I flew or drove. So I bought a nine dollar subscription to volleyball tv.

The truly impressive thing about the Polish & Serbian fans in Chicago was their ability to destroy every bar set up in the UIC Pavillion….I mean 10 deep at every station all match long! Is that how matches go down in Europe?

hmmm i just realized that the USAV Cup and Pan Am Cup overlap. I wonder if we'll see the wide roster for the USAV Cup (and a full B/C team to the Pan Ams)
or if they'll just bring the 14-16 for the WCH to the Turkey matches and send everyone else to Pan Ams we will (for the most part)

we will (for the most part) we wont see WCH cuts at the Pan Ams. They're staying for the Turkey games (I say "cuts" but they probably wont be decided yet) A new-ish group is going to the Pan Ams. (a couple VNL-ers will be there... but the ones we know arent in contention for the WCH spot ie: Butler)
