I think this could be an opportunity KBB considers. The expectations aren't too high, and she gets to coach in the B1G in a state with a lot of talent. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ * Putting this into the world. Not holding my breath.

Do you have anyone you’re hoping to be the next head coach? Kelly Sheffield, John Cook, DBK, Dan Fisher. That’s the list. Please, not Cook. I’m still “okay” with MSU. I’d rather nit have to add another B1G school to my list of teams to hate.

How many times is a P5 school opening going to come up and KBB mentioned as a possibility? Haven't you figured out she isn't going anywhere?

My money is on Kristen Kelsay. Didn’t her fiancée just get hired as a Nebraska assistant coach? I wonder which job would take precedence? Could Mike Gawlik at Central Michigan be an option? He used to be at MSU. Has he had any success at CMU?

I think this is a really good job at a school with great resources and deep pockets for athletics. The community is moving on and working on healing post Na**ar, but a LOT is going into this and the school is handling it very delicately and appropriately IMO. Top ten programs in both football and men's basketball makes it an attractive landing spot for other athletes. I hope MSU pulls out the stops for this hire. The state of Michigan is absolutely oozing with talent (I think their final four matches at the HS level are the most competitive of any state in the country most years), but we just can't seem to get it to stay in state as of late. . As an alum you are closer to this than I am but from what I gather MSU took a hit close to a billion dollars in fines, lawsuits, lost donations and tuition due to a decline in enrollment after Larry Nassar. Michigan State has struggled with women's athletics since. And the mens revenue programs do ok, not because Michigan State has resources, but because Mat Ishbia, Dan Gilbert and Steve St. Andre have resources. Izzo is a legend but resources help. Dan Gilbert owns the Cleveland Caveliers and has been a major donor for years. Ishbia played on the 2000 National Championship basketball team and is now worth $3.4 billion - he donated $32 million last year to football for construction of new facilities, committed $800k/year to put the entire mens basketball and football rosters on $500/month NIL deals, and when it came time to give FB coach Mel Tucker a $95million contract, he split that with Steve St Andre, another alumni, CEO and major donor. So my question is, do any of these guys care about women's volleyball? And if not. What are realistic expectations for admin’s level of support if their donors attention is not there? I honestly don’t know but I’d imagine their jobs are somewhat tied to keeping Gilbert, Ishbia, and St Andre satisfied.

I'm really sad to see Cathy George go, she has always been a class act and fierce competitor. She more than held her own in the predominantly male Big Ten coaching realm. The Spartans have excellent talent on their roster and this is a really nice spot for an up and coming coach. If you put all the coaches in the big ten in a steel cage match, I’d put my money on her to come out on top. CG is a tough cookie

Minority female will be hired. I called it. Aren't women head coaches already the "minority" though? Or are you trying to say a BIPOC woman will get the position? A woman of color? A non-white woman?
