Wait, don't they already have Glock? Yes, she enrolled in January. Louisville had 4 setters listed on the roster last year, so it's not too terribly crazy to have three for the upcoming season, I guess.

First look at post-Dilfer/Stevenson Cards today in Lexington...
I didn't make it down for the Pitt match (technically it wasn't open to the public anyway). Louisville "won" that one 3-2. They played the first 3 sets to only 15, and the last two to 25. Louisville won sets 1, 4, and 5.
Against UK, Louisville "won" 2-1 (air quotes because its spring play and win/loss records are meaningless, particularly given line-up shakeups that happen so much in spring). 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, fwiw.
Elle Glock played at setter and did a great job. Of course, we're still expecting Raquel Lazaro to join in May, I believe, and likely get that starting setter spot for the fall, we'll see what summer has to offer, but even if things fall completely apart there, we're in good shape, I think. Paige Morningstar wasn't dressed to play and had a foot in...not a full boot, but something similar. Apparently she cut her foot open on something on spring break, should be back fairly quickly. Phekran Kong was at middle opposite of Amaya Tillman to start. Rest of the lineup was pretty much a rinse and repeat from fall as expected.
The Cards looked good, Kentucky struggled a bit more than I expected. I know they lost some significant players such as Skinner to Texas, but Alli Stumler was still playing with them still here in the spring, so I was a little shocked at how much they seemed to struggle. PK looked quite good in the middle. OK, not as good as Stevenson was, but come on, no one is going to expect that of her. She got some good solid swings in, she paired nicely with Aiko Jones on the block several times, and even dove for a dig or two, which is always fun to see from a middle.
They did get Cara Crese a fair bit of time in the middle as well, and she also looked solid. Maybe not quite as put together as PK, but a solid 3rd middle ready to play if needed with Emily Scott off high jumping, now.
UofL played the third set without Amaya Tillman and Anna DeBeer on the floor at all (hey, it's spring, it's the time to get other players experience and playing time to get them some development).
The returnees...well, they're still doing what they do so well. Claire Chaussee bombed away at the left and from the back, Anna DeBeer doing everything all around with a heavy hand on the left, Aiko Jones holding down the right side well, Elena Scott flying all over the place and being a darn good backup setter on the floor, Amaya Tillman still being a brick wall of blocks.
Overall, it looks to be a fun spring of play, and things are looking good, though obviously it's still very early, for fall. The next spring date is next Saturday, April 2nd at Western Kentucky. UofL says time is still TBA, WKU's site says there will be 2 courts with parallel matches being played on the main floor at Diddle and has UofL playing at 10am vs Murray State, 11:30am vs Tennessee Tech, and 2pm vs WKU (those times are CDT). The week after that (April 9th) is the annual (well, other than Covid-interfered years) Kiva College Showcase at OVVC where each team typically plays 3 "matches" of 2 sets each followed by a 6pm match at L&N against Tennessee (that'll be a long day of volleyball), and finally Friday April 15th at Morehead State for Beach Volleyball (I'm curious about this one as MSU seems to have this listed as a legitimate regular season Beach Volleyball competition, suggesting this may not just be exhibition from their side of it) UofL hasn't stated a match time for these, but MSU has them listed at 2pm and 4pm.

Oh sorry, as jwvolley mentioned, it's UofL's home arena, formally, "L&N Federal Credit Union Arena". A bit unwieldy, that, so it seems like most are shortening it to L&N Arena, or just L&N as I did. Sorry for the confusion. For a touch more history, "L&N" is short for Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which through a series of acquisitions and mergers is now a part of CSX. I don't know if there's any actual connection between the credit union and the railroad, or if it's just a name from Louisville's past the credit union picked up on.

I never knew ab that… if there is said player I’d assume she’s preparing to play in the final 4 at the moment You're referring to Sydni Schetnan. She is with the basketball team currently. Back in Louisville at the moment, travelling to Minneapolis on Wednesday, I believe is their schedule. Last I spoke with her, about midway through vball season before bball season really got underway, she was still really excited to join the vball team in the coming season. One would presume she would start practicing with volleyball after this coming weekend's bball final four, and there would be a chance of seeing her in action some at OVVC and maybe at Morehead.

Follow-up on this...I'm at OVVC this morning and indeed Sydni Schetnan is here, dressed, and ready to play for UofL. First "match" (2 sets to 25 I believe is the format they're playing) against Xavier is about to start.

Wasn’t at the evening game against Tennessee but heard they had a packed house and had to turn people away. Sound like Glock played first two sets played well and they won first two. Morningstar the last two lost the third and won the fourth. Hopefully someone can give an update how the day went overall.

Follow-ups on questions:
Yes, Sydni Schetnan played some, not a great deal, but some. She did fairly well, but clearly has some development to do. I'm sure the coaching staff will be working with her quite a bit. Of course, you don't have to coach 6'5", so there's that...
The setting was good, and time was relatively evenly split between Glock and Morningstar. Both are clearly good setters, but both also had some miscues. I'm not an expert here, but I'm willing to chalk some of it up to the players still learning each others' timing and tendencies. There were just some complete whiffs, where the setter was setting the ball to place that the player just wasn't there. That feels like communication and familiarity to me rather than a skill issue.
L&N FCU Arena was definitely packed for the evening event, with people lining the walls for standing room only. I didn't walk out to see, but a trusted friend said that there was a line probably 200 people deep of people that were being turned away because there just wasn't room. Of course, a significant contributor to the crowd was a number of club teams playing in the JVA tournament at the Fairgrounds in the morning coming over to watch this event in the evening. There were definitely quite a number of identifiable groups that were clearly club teams in the arena. That will certainly fill up L&N, that seats just a bit over 1,000, quite quickly. It made for a great atmosphere, but of course, it's a shame that they had to turn people away.
