I really like Houston's schedule, except both Alabama and Oregon State.
Hopefully Oregon St. can surprise.

While we await the official unveiling of Penn State's 2022 Schedule, here's PSU's OOC matches listed on other teams' schedules:
Penn State Classic (at Rec Hall) • Aug 26 (F) – vs. UConn • Aug 27 (Sa) – vs. Loyola Maryland • Aug 27 (Sa) – vs. WVU • Duquesne is also coming to the PS Classic but their schedule doesn’t list a match with PSU
Tiger Classic (at LSU) • Sep 2 (F) – vs. Troy • Sep 3 (Sa) – vs. LSU • Sep 2 or 3 – vs. Iowa State
B1G/Pac 12 Challenge (at MN) • Sep 9 (F) – vs. Stanford • Sep 10 (Sa) – vs. Oregon
B1G Conference Schedule begins Friday, Sep 23, so perhaps there’s an additional OOC match (or two) the week prior? Anyone heard of any matches vs. PSU Sep 16-17?

Normally, I wouldn't give a UCLA schedule a second's thought, but well, now... What jumps out at me is they play all four non-conference weekends on the road (!?). Is that usual? Is home match attendance really that bad, that 'unprofitable'? Yikes!

Is home match attendance really that bad, that 'unprofitable'? Yikes! the answer is yes. Unless UCLA is playing against USC, Stanford, and occasionally Washington, they have pretty bad attendance, and it's been that way for quite some time now. USC is mostly the same. Even when they host sub regionals, nobody goes. UCLA last year barely drew 1,000 people for their 2nd round home match to advance to the sweet 16. Last time USC hosted a sub regional (2018) they drew 650 for a 2nd round match with San Diego! These programs have pedestrian results (relative to their storied pasts) the last half decade and nobody goes to their matches yet year after year they both get top recruits from OTHER parts of the country to go there.....Not that I'm salty or anything

Turns out quite a few people like the idea of living in Los Angeles and attending either USC or UCLA. I didn't attend USC or UCLA, but I lived in LA county for almost 25 years. But that has nothing to do with attendance - or lack of - at volleyball. If anything, it's a reason that *more* people should be showing up at volleyball. Sorry if I wasn't more clear. I was referring to the complaint that USC and UCLA still get top recruits every year despite middling results and weak attendance.

Is home match attendance really that bad, that 'unprofitable'? Yikes! UCLA is on the quarter system. So, classes don't start until around the 3rd week of September. Since they don't have to be in class, Sealy likes to use the non-conference season to travel. We'll see if that changes when UCLA moves to the B1G.
