That is interesting. MSU seems like a kind of random landing spot for her, but good work by the new staff.

Thank God these two are sticking around with the coaching change. They will no doubt be asked to take on a huge workload in their freshman season. Here’s what I see for the lineup for next season: OH and OPP: Maradith O’Gorman, Doezma and Moore Middles: Poljan and Monks Libero: Iosia Setter: Nunez is more experienced than Bishop, so I think she gets the nod. Aubrey O’Gorman was a highly ranked recruit, but I don’t see her starting over the two middles. MSU is so thin on the outside, Eleanor Stothoff (another OH) just announced that she is transferring to William and Mary. Coulda shoulda woulda, but this team would have been really good if Franklin and Kabengele, and incoming freshman Gillian Grimes stuck around.

There are actually going to be 5 pin hitters on the roster this year: M. O'Gorman, Doezma, Kelly (Va Tech transfer), Moore, and Holdem (incoming freshman from NZ). Between those 5, I think it's really up in the air for which of those 5 start since none have BIG experience.

(lifted from the transfers thread) This is an interesting transfer as now MSU has three capable setters in Nunez, Bishop, and now Muisenga. Nunez seems to be the most capable of stepping in and setting on day 1 of the season, but that might not be the best long term option for the program. Is this a shock that Muisenga left Penn State? Who will be setting for PSU in the fall?

She's a highly ranked setter so I imagine it isn't a huge surprise that Muisenga left. But I'm just an Illinois homer so I can't speak for Nittany Lion nation.

Who will be setting for PSU in the fall? Penn State has 2 incoming setters: Katie Hurta (2022 IL GPOY) and Seleisa Elisaia (transfer from Cal State Bakersfield). Without any inside knowledge, I'm guessing that Seleisa, who was 1st Team Big West Conference, will set for PSU. If needed, two others on the current roster have experience setting in high school as well. Rachel was taken off the PSU roster a few weeks ago, so today's MSU announcement is more of a confirmation than a shock. Best of luck to her in East Lansing!

The BigTen fall volleyball season begins with four female coaches? Aw yes, but with how many will it end?

I wish Franklin would’ve stayed and given Johnson a shot. Would’ve been really curious to see

Should be some exciting games with Michigan State and Penn State. Michigan State got a Penn State Setter, and Penn State got a Michigan State Libero.

So weird to see them next to each other after all of the GRC vs LOL showdowns at States the last few years. Add in Marian, Mercy, and NDP and just wow- what a crazy 3-4 years we had getting to watch so many top recruits from Michigan. Not to mention the Murray sisters.

I’m optimistic about the direction of the program under Leah and staff. Won’t happen over night but I can tell that the vibe about Michigan State as a destination for good players has improved significantly this year. I expect their recruiting to be stronger than ever over the next couple of years. And if they can show some improvement, at least moving up toward the middle of the B1G pack, they’ll be able to start to compete for top 50 recruits consistently.
