It would be awesome if the ACCN could do for y'all what the BTN did for us and have a Media Day. I felt like it gave our young women some great exposure. The ACC is growing in notoriety and a Media Day at the start of the season would help keep that momentum rolling. Agreed! Did you change your profile name?

I think you are forgetting GT brought in Tamara Otene. yeah she’s not Brambilla but that girl can score. She will definitely help Bergmann. And I think Louisville pins coming back is HUGE. Lots of passing back for Louisville to help new setters. I think Louisville still looks like favorite followed by Pitt then GT. All three should still be Regional Bound quality teams this year barring injuries or somebody just having a bad season I knew Collier bought in a good pin, they just need someone that can provide the fire an leadership that Brambilla and McKissock bought. UL cannot replace Dilfer and Stevenson...they were that special. They are going to be good but the intangibles they bought were unmatched. I think Fish scored with Buzzerio and Dalton. I think those 3 teams could interchange in the top 3 and then there will be another cluster 4-6 IMO. dilfer was not that special and that's coming from a Louisville fan. she had a good serve and did her job well, but she was surrounded by extremely talented and athletic players. Louisville was one the best blocking and defensive teams in the country, dilfer was the worst at both of those skills out of everyone who was on the court. they also had very good ball control and return every single passer and backcourt player they had. they bring back 4 of the 5 players who were apart of the most balanced offense in the country. Lazaro is not much of a drop-off if any in skill. tori was a leader and got 1st team AA because she was on the #1 team in the country. Stevenson was the only true first team AA deserving player on the team in terms of how good of a volleyball player she was at her position.

I think a lot of people forget Miami was in one of the middle pods of the round Robin for the ACC last year (Clemson, WF, FSU, UNC twice). They didn’t play Pitt, Louisville, or GT twice. Each one of those *probably* would have been another loss for them. And then everyone made a scene that they didn’t get the 16 seed in the tournament (I also believe they should have) and then they proved the committee right by getting absolutely demolished by Florida. So yes I think they will be good- but I am not buying into anyone’s theory that they will be great or that they are being undersold- they really need to prove things results wise. This year's ACC schedule is essentially a mirror image (swap home/away) of last season's, so if you think they were helped by a weaker schedule, then they'll have the same help this season.

Just starting to look at rosters. Virginia Tech lists 23 players. Seems like a lot.

Could be some really competitive battles this season. Especially among the top teams but even the next level will have talent to make for nice challenges amongst each other and the top tier.

Think it will be a battle of more than 2 or 3 teams for the Title this year. Some teams have lost the players they went to in critical times, so others will have to step up this year. Louisville will be a team searching for players to step up with the loss of Dilfer and Stevenson. Looking for a very competitive season in the ACC

For what it is worth - I have settled on:
1. Louisville 2. Pittsburgh 3. Georgia Tech 4. Miami 5. Florida State 6. North Carolina 7. Duke 8. NC State
I would put a break between Louisville and Pitt and then a break between GT and Miami. I now believe that Georgia Tech could be a force again this season. Pittsburgh just has too many questions and changes at the top for me to be 'sold' on them like I am with Louisville. Miami, UNC, Florida State, Duke and NC State are almost put them all in a hat and pick.
Anyone know if Kerry Keefe is healthy? If she is healthy and she is as good as I think she will be - this would be huge for Duke. I am most interested in seeing how good Cabello and Williams will be for NC State - if those two are anything close to how they were considered coming out of HS, NC State will get good very quickly. Notre Dame looks like total rebuild mode - may be rough starting out this year.
