Instead of focusing on weekly rosters, I'm going to take a stab at building each teams full roster. Do we know how many each team can name? It was 21 in 2018, 25 in 2019 and 18 in 2021.
I'm still a bit confused on the new league format. Each team plays 12 matches but not every team in the league. Teams are ranked in two pools of 8 teams. Top 4 in each pool cross over in the quarterfinals? Is it a 1A vs. 4B, 2A vs. 3B, 3A vs. 2B and 4A vs. 1B cross over format?
USA won't be facing Korea, The Netherlands or Italy in the preliminary round.
Someone tell me what I need to know. lol

Hmmm. So it appears the league table will still feature all 16 teams. Looks like the quarterfinals will be 1v8, 2v7, 3v6 and 4v5?

Why is it taking them so long to announce a replacement team? The men's VNL already announced theirs.

Check this out. These are the teams each team WILL NOT face in the preliminary round: Core Teams (In no particular order) USA: ITA, NED, KOR Serbia: CHN, POL, DOMChina: SRB, GER,  Italy: USA, CAN, JPN Turkey: POL, DOM, THA Brazil: JPN, BEL, CANNetherlands: USA, POL, THA Japan: ITA, BRA, CANGermany: CHN, THA, Thailand: TUR, NED, GER Korea: USA, BEL, Challenger Teams: Poland: SRB, TUR, NED Belgium: BRA, DOM, KOR Dominicana: SRB, TUR, BELCanada: ITA, BRA, JPN Russiaās Replacement: : CHN, GER, KOR Not having a full round robin format gets tricky and certain team will get favorable draws like Poland. They won't face three of the tougher CEV teams. Meanwhile Brazil doesn't face three weaker teams, in a rebuilding year. I wonder if Russia's replacement will enter the tournament as a challenger team or a core team? If it were up to me I would promote the highest ranked challenger team from the 2021 edition (Dominicana) to core team status and bring in the highest ranked team in the world that isn't already in the competition (Bulgaria) as a challenger team. |

Lee over Frantti and Stevenson over Stivrins or Butler Lee isn't passing in every rotation for Stuttgart. Stivrins being injured and Butler playing in Indonesia might hurt their chances of making the roster. I've heard good things about Stevenson but we shall see. I think Stevenson is better than both of them even if they were both healthy and competing in good leagues. Sheās legit |
