Considering that Nebraska's .222 hitting percentage was their lowest in at least 39 years, it's nearly impossible for them not to improve offensively. As long as the Huskers can hold the opponent to anywhere near the .148 percentage of last season, a .222 might be enough to get them very deep in the tournament once again. Yeah. That’s too close a differential to be very confident. Season averages don’t mean that much if a team is playing well at tournament time though.

It’s gonna be a great season that’s for sure. MN, NEB, and WIS are so spoiled at the pins it’s insane. I think overall MN has the pin advantage (in terms of passing/attacking combined) but the Middle situation depends on setting but I’m excited to see Shaffmaster really evolve. Nebraska is probably the deepest on the pins offensively and a Caffey/Hord combo would be absurd - plus they have the 2 best MBs in their class right now coming in behind them. Hope to see Orr run the offense. Wisconsin is so loaded on offense it’ll just come down to the defense/passing. A likely freshman bro alongside a solid supporting ds cast should allow whichever setter emerges to utilize all of their options. The only team I think that will challenge these 3 will be Ohio State because of their Veterans and then maybe Michigan if everyone can collectively have a good night. Illinois if they can serve them off the court.

Wisconsins likely libero is a freshman in class only. She has experience playing in the second best league in the entire world defending against some of the worlds best attackers (Bošković, Haak, Gabi, Arina, Vargas, etc)

This might be one of the most unpredictable years (minus Covid year) in the Big 10. Talent is needed to win but a core group of experience players is even more important, imo. And finally health will always factor in.
Also, I heard the new Big 10 tv deal will be huge! Anyone hear if more VB on the main channel is expected?

It's all about football and to a much smaller degree, men's basketball.

I don't know GG's specifics, but in both baseball and hockey, players can play for 'expenses' without messing up their eligibility to play in the NCAA. It is quite common for a male hockey player to come out of high school. play a year or two in "junior leagues" for "expense money", then play NCAA, and then play professionally for salary. Likewise the famous New England summer baseball leagues, etc.

I’m sure the NCAA has all of her pay stubs. I'm sure the Wisconsin Athletic Dept compliance people understand the rules.
