Milan Zarkovic of Hawai’i Earns AVCA Assistant Coach of the Year Honors5/2/23  Excerpt: LEXINGTON, Ky. – Hawai’i associate coach Milan Zarkovic has been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Assistant Coach of the Year for the second time. Zarkovic, who joined head coach Charlie Wade’s staff in October of 2013, also claimed the prestigious award in 2020. Zarkovic becomes the first repeat winner of the award, which began in 2010, and the second Hawai’i assistant to earn acclaim (Josh Walker, 2019). In the three seasons since Zarkovic’s first honor, UH has compiled a .900 winning percentage on the court (72-8) with a pair of Big West Championships to go along with a set of national championships. I’ll take it you haven’t been following Uh for long? I followed them before the pandemic. Then started following them again last year. LOL! Yeah right!!! The Worsley brothers were there pre-pandemic! Unless by pre-pandemic, you are referring to like a decade prior, which is still valid to your excuse. |

I followed them before the pandemic. Then started following them again last year. LOL! Yeah right!!! The Worsley brothers were there pre-pandemic! Unless by pre-pandemic, you are referring to like a decade prior, which is still valid to your excuse. But, since you do not know about the Worsley Brothers, I would suggest you look them up. They were absolutely HUGE for the UH mens volleyball program. No way Hawaii would have reached the heights they have the past couple of years if not for their contributions to the program! |

Thursday’s match will be a barnburner, hope we packed our passing and top level serving on this trip. Penn State’s 3 pins can serve, especially Cal Fisher. He’s a one man wrecking crew..hitting, blocking, serving, digging…this guy has almost as many aces 51 as he’s got errors 68. Kowal and Wildman are great BIC hitters and as coach Jay of George Mason says “ serve the snot out of the ball!” Fortunately, both guys also serve out a lot. We need to start fast and keep the pedal to the metal on Thursday, no relaxing.

So where you guys watching the saturday game? Not watching Saturday’s game if UH don’t advance. Already requested off from part time job on Thursday. If UH advances to the championships, I’ll call and sick Saturday. 😂 |

Sure… At any case, Gage Worsley (not the “brother who set”) was a multiple AA for Hawaii AS A LIBERO!! Probably one of the absolute best to ever play in that position in the college game. |
