Did they change the extra inning format with a runner on 2nd for the WS, or did they drop it completely? The runner on 2nd rule is only in effect during the regular season. No cheap finishes in postseason.

Wow, Freeman's walk-off grand slam in the 10th! What a way to win the game.

Freeman is only an eight time all star and 2020 NL MVP so the yankees playing the percentages with lefty vs lefty backfired big time.

Easy to say in hindsight after it happened and it would definitely have been too much to expect a grand slam, but given Freeman's pedigree a game winning hit is not a surprise. It's not like he is rally killer Abraham Toro

Well, they pitched to an MVP and got him out on a fly in the stands that moved the runners up, then they walked an MVP to get to an MVP. There are a lot of ways that could have gone wrong. You pick your poison.

If that were really the case we would not have to wait 43 years for the Yankees and dodgers to match up again in the series. If anything historically when there was no free agency teams like the Yankees and Montreal in the NHL could keep players forever. That's where their dynasties came from. Honestly if players want to sign with the Yankees or dodgers can you blame them? Much better them than the pitiful penurious mariners.

There definitely is, but baseball has enough randomness to mask it somewhat. A real salary cap/floor and revenue sharing would help a lot.

To be mildly fair, if you ignore the shortened, bubble, Covid year, the Dodgers have not won a World Series in 36 years.

Leadoff base on balls by Gleyber Torres. Balls 2 and 3 were just off the outside corner.

Judge is in a major slump. 6 for last 37 with 17 strikeouts Judge has been brutal. They'll just jeep walking Soto to pitch to Judge in crucial spots.

Didn't know Stanton is 4th all time in Yankee post season home runs. With their rich storied history, I would've thought there would be more Yankees ahead of him.

Game 2 picks. Still early, so....
Arod - Yankees 8-5 Ortiz - dodgers 8-2 Jeter - Yankees 6-5
Both arod and Jeter predict judge will homer tonight. We will see...
By the way dodgers up 1-0 thanks to an edman long ball.
