I’ll be going to game six in LA - if it happens, of course. Crossing my fingers… Damn it. How much were tickets? I went to game 2 against the Mets. That game was strangely reasonable because it was a Monday day game. We were able to get decent seats. Same seats for the two Yankees games were x10 what I paid for Mets, so we didn't go.

I was so lucky I had Columbus Day off when almost nobody else in California gets it off, including schools. (Why in the world is it still a Federal holiday?). 4th row Field against the Mets just off the dirt was only $260 per. When I told my daughter our same seats for the Yankees were $2500, her first response was "Are we going? I'll pay half". Then, "Oh, that is per ticket, not for both. Never mind."

I have had the desire to attend a big time championship event but then when I think how many nights of lodging I can can get for even an expensive road trip...never mind.

Judge dropped a routine fly ball in the 5th? He really is becoming A-Rod jr since A-Rod had fielding difficulties. 😂
And Cole didn’t cover first base on a grounder? Starting to think repeat of the Black Sox 👀

Starting to think repeat of the Black Sox 👀 The difference is that back then, gamblers could buy off a whole baseball team for roughly $100,000 each (in today's dollars). Now? Judge makes about 3x that much money every time he plays a game. You just couldn't afford to buy off a MLB baseball team.

Yes I know, even with inflation, the amount of money poured into professional sports have jumped over the last few decades but inflation still matter...for some perspective.

I've heard the economy is terrible, so it is surprising tickets are going for that price and selling out every game, as well as NFL games, NBA games, NHL, attendance records for WNBA... for such a terrible economic state that this country is in, it is really shocking. People really spend that kind of money to watch other people who make thousands, to hundreds of thousands, to millions of dollars who don't give a rats *** about them? Wild. But ask for higher taxes for money for schools or health care and it is just too much.
