If you need to pay to watch a game from a "minor" league, I don't get it. Are they hoping that enough family and friends cough up the money to cover the broadcast fees? Which are next to nothing? Maybe I'm wrong but every stream should be free and they should be promoting the hell out of it. ? MVC is on a paid service, so is the WAC, Big East, Horizon, Ivy, Sun Belt, CUSA, ASUN, Big West, Big Sky, OVC, A10, MAC.... and other conferences im forgetting. meanwhile WCC and MW are the only conferences (that I know of) that are almost entirely free, if not completely.

Maybe I'm wrong but every stream should be free and they should be promoting the hell out of it. I think it actually makes those schools some money, mainly from their own fan bases. Revenue sports like football and hockey drive those subscriptions, and they don’t have to share that revenue with conference-mates. It’s not a growth or exposure model, though. That’s where the conference needs to step in and lead.

NDSU @ Omaha game thread: link#1(Tied) vs #3 in the standings. Both teams on a roll. Bison just upset the Pioneers, and Omaha with 6 consecutive sweeps. And there is a long history of Division-2 rivalry. Should be fun....

Yes, this is a little early to start this thread... but I thought I'd start it while I was thinking about it. Plus, that gives me all Summer to collect and post conference info on the teams. I've never done a very in-depth presentation of that, so I thought I'd take my time and model it after other conference threads. Thanks! I love your coverage of the Summit League. This so refreshing after reading non stop about all the prima donna player's and coach's in the big time leagues.

At the halfway point of conference play, and the standings now pretty accurately reflect the strength of teams. USD and Omaha now top both the standings and the RPI rankings. USD continues to slide in RPI as they keep winning matches. Whadayagonna do? Big upsets this weekend were NDSU sweeping Denver in Denver, and Oral Roberts and KC both beating SDSU in Brookings. North Dakota also took the Pios to five sets! I have to admit that NDSU has earned a spot in the top-4 teams. Not a paper tiger. The big question for me is what has happened to Denver and SDSU? North Dakota is no fluke either, and I think their coach might be on a collision course for COY honors ORU and KC are "not dead yet" and St Thomas gets their first conference win of the season, over WIU.

It's a big week for the Yotes of South Dakota with road matches against Denver and Omaha. If the Yotes can win both, they will be hard to catch in the standings. Saturday afternoon's match of South Dakota vs Omaha should be fun with a lot on the line.

I have very little faith in #5-#8. Unfortunately I could see it getting completely shuffled around. Not sure if that’s good or bad for the Summit considering everyone’s current RPI rankings.

Omaha has a favorable back stretch to their schedule, playing most of their top opponents at home. The tough road trip left for them is to NDSU and North Dakota.

Wow. Denver easily takes the 1st and 2nd set against SD, 25-15, 25-16.
Is it because everyone is healthy at Denver now? Or??

Reverse sweep! That’s something like four or five reverse sweeps the Yotes have completed against Denver over the last several years…. (To my recollection)

Omaha beats SD State 3-1 in a bit of a sloppy match with many challenges. Shayla McCormick led Omaha with 19 kills hitting .311. Crystal Burk led South Dakota State with 20 kills and hit .306. This sets the stage for Saturday' anticipated Omaha vs South Dakota match at 3 PM central time.
