Shout-out to Oral Roberts for upgrading their video production this year. The production for this evening's match vs Omaha was again free, but also had multiple cameras and an announcer who knew some basic volleyball terminology. However, their ceiling is too low. I counted the ball hitting the ceiling five times in the three-set match.

There’s gotta be another gym in Tulsa they could play in.

Instead of a gym, I would describe their home court as a rec center and they bring in portable bleachers for the matches, at least on one side. I agree with you though that 5+ ceiling contacts were too much and they should find another place to play.

The Mabee Center is way too Cavernous for Volleyball (really it's too big for their basketball following right now too), but at least it would be regulation. I have to imagine they are sandbagging on upgrading facilities because it gives them an "awkward home gym" advantage. It isn't that tough to build a volleyball-sized facility with mis-appropriated funds. Just ask Bret Favre.

Yeah, but I think most schools at least share the women's basketball facility (I said most, not all). So, while ORU does need an upgrade, it likely would not be volleyball stand alone. There might be some different definitions (think Devaney in Lincoln, built for basketball, but it's primary/largest attended tenant is volleyball now). I imagine most volleyball facilities are at the very least split with women's basketball (DJ Sokol/Creighton). For Omaha, the Baxter is shared by hockey, both men's/women's basketball, and volleyball.

Looks like starting setter Schram for the Coyotes is in a walking boot. Freshman setter Woodin replaced her for the Western Illinois match. They played better at the end of the match than the start, so that’s good. And got the sweep.
This could impact the season though.
Rematches with the top teams will be tougher.

Big upset this weekend was North Dakota over NDSU, creating a 3-way tie for first in the standings. As the schedule starts to balance, the standings are making more sense. North Dakota and NDSU will face Omaha and Denver this coming weekend, so that will fix the top of the standings, likely. North Dakota is doing all the right things to stay in that top-tier of 6 teams that make the Summit Tournament. ORU and KC are now in an uphill battle. In the RPI, USD is the only one with a small chance of an at-large bid, and would probably have to win out at this point. their SOS deteriorates every week, so just one more loss would torpedo their RPI. Maybe that ship has already sailed... might be time for a new metric in volleyball, like the NET in basketball.

Kind of laughing at Denver.
Apparently you need to subscribe to Denver's "premium content" to actually watch the game.

NDSU wins in three.
Starting to think that NDSU is taking something from their football team. They want the kids who aren't interested in playing for a top twenty team (or don't get offers) and are diamonds in the rough.
They also seem to have a great pipeline out of some of the best clubs in the Twin Cities.

Yeah, definitely a problem if those teams want a wider audience and recruiting exposure. Especially in basketball. I think the new commissioner is trying to launch a Summit digital network.

If you need to pay to watch a game from a "minor" league, I don't get it.
Are they hoping that enough family and friends cough up the money to cover the broadcast fees? Which are next to nothing?
Maybe I'm wrong but every stream should be free and they should be promoting the hell out of it.
