And South Dakota is in a battle, tied 1 - 1 and 23 all in set 3..... The Yotes end set 3 with three points in a row and win the set with a block. Refs missed a pretty clear interfere/over the net call before that set ended, when the ND setter was playing the ball and the USD middle touched it. USD got kind of lucky.

North Dakota is no fluke. The conference tournament is gonna be entertaining this year, I think.

I saw the reply and I think I agree that the ball wasn't quite over the net, but to my eyes, it was close.

Juhnke was pretty tough in that 5th set. She's probably the best overall player that the Summit League has had since I began watching more closely in 2015. The Yotes have a two-game lead over Omaha plus wins the tie-breaker. Therefore, their match with ND State will likely decide whether SD wins the Summit League championship and the right to host next year's (2023) conference tournament. If North Dakota State wins, they would still needs to get past Omaha to share the championship with South Dakota.

Hopefully this doesn't come across the wrong way, especially as an alum of a Summit League school, but how did Juhnke end up at a mid major? Under-recruited? Late bloomer? Personal connection to the school? Has this been answered previously and I missed it?

Personal connection to the school? Has this been answered previously and I missed it? A great question that I don't have any definitive answers for. The same question could be asked of at least two other Minnesota athletes, Jordan Thompson and McKenna Melville. Are Cincinnati and UCF considered mid-majors?

She DID get P-5 interest but said they told her she was too small to be a six-rotation player. And she wanted to stay on the floor. Also based on her comments she really bonded with the staff early, and always felt like it was a family and she was valued. On a similar note, Coach W has had multiple P-5 opportunities she has turned down. Sometimes the grass isn’t greener. She grew up in a smaller town in Wisconsin and I think she is really active and integrated into the community. Three young kids.

Looks like all the favorites won tonight, mostly in sweeps. South Dakota, SDSU, Omaha and Denver.
The top 5 teams have all clinched spots in the conference tournament. One spot left, and SDSU is ahead of ORU and KC by two matches, could be three after Saturday. Things starting to solidify. Five teams are still in the running for a regular season title, with USD in the pole position.
