Well the way this country was set up was stupid. It was perfectly good at the time. And they built in a perfectly good mechanism to amend the constitution. That so little effort was put into amendments, for so long, is entirely not anyone's fault but the people who are crying now.

Urbanists want to be able to concentrate themselves into very few, highly dense parts of the country, and still wield at least half the power. The country was never setup to work that way. Well the way this country was set up was stupid. But you asked about the "left" and then started talking about a 50/50 split so I don't know what you mean about "left." well, it was set up to amend it so why was it set up so wrong? seems there's a reasonable balance or is democracy or a Republic a bad idea?

Exact same thing, just whatever is convenient for you I guess. Thousands of years of human nature tell us what is going to happen.

Bicameral legislature is bad, no direct election of senators is bad, making the president both head of state and head of government is bad. The entire thing is specifically designed to dissipate and diffuse democratic impulses. Federalism is bad, too, at least the way it operates in this country. The amendment process is so broken the only way we ended slavery in this country and let black people vote was through extraconstitutional acts, a four year long war, and a military occupation of the south.

Guess who's still going to get abortions: rich people, Republicans and Democrats alike. Who's not getting abortoins? People living in states like Missouri that don't have the money to travel out of state to get one. Rich Republicans still will, though.

Thousands of years of human nature tell us what is going to happen. And what is that? What’s going to happen? People are going to have sex. Unprotected sex. Always have, always will. Not only that, birth control can fail. People get raped. There will be unwanted pregnancies.

That's what Republicans are coming after next, birth control. Then once again only the rich will have access.

I'm talking about bernie supporters who refused to vote for Hillary because Bernie was not the nominee. If you don't vote you reap what you sow, Then they protest AFTER the fact. That the following three things happened leading up to 2016: - Biden decided not to run - Bernie ran and had as popular of a campaign as he did - Hillary beat out the rest, and it was assumed she would beat out Trump is entirely why this country currently sits where it does. Any one of those three doesn't happen, and we're midway through the second term of the Dem 2016 winner, with a 6-3 Dem appointed SCOTUS.
maybe not, maybe as Hillary or otehr tried to further cement an agenda that is athema to the majority of Americans, the 2018 election changed course. the only difference is Roe v. Wade still stands maybe Russia invaded Ukraine and the entire Ukraine nation is under Russian control maybe this, maybe that it's all speculation it's 2022, and so we are at where a good portion of Republicans may screw it up with some of their pet project issues because they believe people will only care about the economy, but there are only so much they can pile up before they cost themselves. problem nationally is the PRes belongs in a Rest home, the VP belongs teaching kindergarten, and the last PResident belongs in jail....so there isn't much effective leadership out there at the moment. McCarthy is too scared of his own job to actually be a leader. McConnell is basically the most effective leader in teh country right now, which sums up the state of things

Bicameral legislature is bad, no direct election of senators is bad, making the president both head of state and head of government is bad. It's such an obviously and objectively bad system ... that the country is many times richer and more powerful than the UK. Hmmmm... The entire thing is specifically designed to dissipate and diffuse democratic impulses. Mob rule is not better. The amendment process is so broken Then why didn't people fix it when they had the chance?

Cheap and easy by mail.
FDA approved up to 10 weeks. No excuses

Fat chance. You'll catch a few. So what? People still do/sell drugs, even though you go to prison if you get caught.

They are not going to go after birth control for crying out loud. You also have the option of a condom or don’t have sex at all. That’s what separates us from the animals.
