I know FGCU is smaller but anyway. I saw Puetz committed so I was wondering what her deal was. She was a 2022 but did no one offer her? She was Orange County POY and looked like she had the stats to show it but didn’t get offered? Just wondering.

HS/Club "stats" are meaningless and unreliable.

I could speculate based on what I see on video, but why would I want to publically critique an 18 year old who has just found a place to continue playing volleyball.

Yes you’re right, wasn’t trying to criticize though. She just looked good at vb and had the stats to prove it so was just wondering. Thanks

Idk her or anything really at all lol but it appears she was on a Nebraska visit in April if you look at her insta. Sometimes things don’t pan out and finding the best fit takes longer. Who knows. Happy she has found a home!

FGCU is a desirable school to attend. Get to go to school right by the beach, great facilities, and a winning record most of the time.

Honestly, if you know you are not going to make it pro indoor, and have possibly aspirations to try out beach if you get bored with indoor or for your 5th year, FGCU is an unbeleivable school to attent. Looks like a vacation resort on campus and just seems like an overall enjoyable quality of life for a college student.

Thats a really poor reason to go to any school… FGCU does a great job and their staff has proven they can win… being bored or “not playing pro” isnt really a reason that staff would bring in a SA…

It really isn't, you can be a great SA with a realistic understanding of your skillset or lack of desire to play at the next level and work hard and achieve success while having a better quality of life than say living in the snow/cold 5 months out of the year to maybe not crack the lineup for a while at a bigger school. And I said get bored with indoor for your 5th year, as in switching sports to play beach rather than go play indoor at a different school while you get your graduates.

Maybe it was her right fit? Maybe the 5th year Covid players and high number of transfers are finally tanking 2022 and 2023s?
