BYU scores twice after Pepperdine's TO and the Waves use their 2nd TO down 16-20 in Malibu.
Pepperdine targets Stowell on serve receive to win 3 straight points. BYU calls TO with the lead down to one, 20-19.

Pacific 8-7 over Portland in the 5th set.
Pacific 10-7 now. Can Portland stage another late-set rally?

Pacific 12-7
Portland runs out of time as Pacific wins the 5th set, 15-8, and the match, 3-2. Maybe if they went to 25 in the 5th set they could have closed the gap.
Really close hitting percentages. Pacific .158 (62-35-171), Portland .157 (45-21-153). Huge disparity in kills by Pacific is evened out by the equally huge disparity in errors from them as well. Pacific had 75 digs to Portland's 59, but Portland led in blocks 16-9. Looks like Harris and Bradley didn't get any kills in the 5th set both finishing with 11 for the Pilots. Kumanova had 5 in the 5th for Pacific, finishing with 24 on a .333. Looks like Edwards had 1 kill in the 5th to finish at 13 and Kabengele had none to remain at 15.
------------------------
Helmuth hitting error. Pepp challenges net touch I think. Call stands. BYU 21-19 BYU had match point leading 24-21, but sloppy passing has made it 24-23. But they challenge net touch I think and call is reversed giving them the 25-23 set win and the match 3-0
BYU hit .372 (46-11-94) while holding Pepperdine to .167 (40-22-108). Some of that was the setting. Archer is raw, but I think it's a good idea to give her the reps. Zelaya was all over the place in the previous match.
Livingston hit .436 with 20 kills. Gneiting (.727) with 8 and Stowell also with 8 for BYU. That's a much better offensive match for Gneiting that what she's had recently. She also had 6 blocks. Llarenas had 5, Stowell 4.
Chillingworth finished with 10, but it was a rough night. She hit .086 with 7 errors on 35 attacks. Meg Brown had 9 kills and hit .294. Vanessa Polk hit .571 with 4 kills and no errors, but she was only set 7 times. Pepperdine had 6 aces with only 2 errors, which helped keep it close in all three sets.

LMU up 2-1 over San Diego, 25-19 in the 3rd. Geissberger is a monster in this match. Gonzaga 20-12 over St. Mary's. Maybe another 5-setter tonight.

Gonzaga does indeed force a 5th set, 25-21.
San Diego and LMU are tied again in the 4th set, 15-15. Back and forth we go.

BYU swept Pepperdine but the sets were all close. -22, -21, -22. It's a good win for BYU, but I don't think they have really improved much at all over the course of the season. LMU is playing well. I don't know if BYU can beat them, especially on the road, and especially with the suspect passing that is just part of their game.

Gonzaga had an 7-4 lead in the 5th, but St. Mary's has pulled ahead 9-8.
Should mention that Hawley Harrer is having a heck of a match for St. Mary's hitting .468 with 24 kills and just 2 errors on 47 attacks. Genevieve Bane has 12 but only hitting .114. Leading the way for Gonzaga is Zoe Thiros and Alyssa Hughes with 15 each.
UPDATE: Harrer finishes with 26 kills and just the 2 errors on 51 attacks to hit .471. Congrats to her on leading her team to the win as well.

St. Mary's wraps it up, 15-11, in the 5th over Gonzaga. Gaels win 3-2 Very similar matches by Portland and Gonzaga. Both looked like goners in the 4th set, came back to win it, only to run out of steam in the 5th set.
Meanwhile San Diego wins the battle in the 4th set, 26-24, to push that match to a 5th set as well.

San Diego, after trailing 6-9 pulls of their 2nd 5-set win over LMU, 15-11 in the 5th.
Lukes with an uncharacteristic performance on the night, with just 10 kills (.152) but she came up big in the 5th. Frohling had 17 kills (.405), Blackwell 14 (.571), and Edwards 13 (.242). Geissberger had 22 kills (.211), but 10 errors. Booth had 14 kills but hit only .118. Jacquelyn Moore was as good as ever hitting .560 with 14 kills, 0 errors, on 25 attacks.
Very even match with both teams hitting nearly the same percentage. San Diego hit .256 (61-21-156), just a tad better than LMU's .250 (68-28-160). LMU had 60 digs to San Diego's 55, basically the same number of blocks (15 to 15.5) and 66 assists to 60. LMU had 4 aces to 9 errors, while USD had 5 aces to 13 errors. Can't get the stream to work for San Francisco @ Santa Clara match. Ugh!
Match is in the first set but they have the time for it listed as starting an hour later on the WCC site. Wonder if that has something to do with it.
According to twitter, Santa Clara's seniors are Julia Sangiacomo and Grace Wee.

Ok. I'm glad it's not just me that can't get past the spinning disc to load the USF- Santa Clara match.
Santa Clara has gone up 2-0 with 25-19, 25-18 sets. SCU hitting .417 to USF's .109. Yikes. Santa Clara seems to be finding their stride a bit late in the season with a couple of promising freshmen in Truitt and Okammor.
Sangiacomo has a potential 5th season to use. I'll bet they would love to have her back.

Both Claire Crijns and Julia Sangiacomo having rough nights. Crijns is hitting -.118 with just 3 kills and 5 errors on 17 attack. Sangiacomo is at least hitting positive at .176, but she's only got 5 kills and 2 errors on 17 attacks.
Yikes! Another error for Crijns, and she's at -.167 now.

I wanted to watch at least some of this match, so I'm bummed it's not working.
I call that spinning disc "the eternal circle." I really, really hate it.

What has happened to Pepperdine? They came into conference play 9-2 and beat some pretty good teams. Now they are middle of the pack team and may miss postseason if they continue to struggle and lose.
