6-2 is not it. Izzy has zero ability to make anyone guess. Can't say I was impressed with MJ. It might be a long season. If you don't have faith in either setter, how do you have faith in a 5-1? I know Izzy isn't it and I'd rather see Demps backrow and Smrek middle. Easier to do with a 5-1. And when did I say "I have faith in a 5-1?"

I predicted the badgers would lose at least 2 matches before the B1G season. So this is bang on what I expected at this time of the year.

So many thank yous to vballfreak808 and the mysterious Man From Minnesota doing the camera work. I wasn't rooting against Wisconsin per se, as much as I wanted to see Baylor win. It was an extremely competitive match. Kudos for both teams for leaving it all out there. I'm sure this is a frustrating result for Wisconsin fans, but I'm happy for the two Baylor fans we have on here, including one of my favorite posters, houstonbear. I can't believe Baylor found a way to win. Such a tightly contested match the whole time I watched, up to and including the decisive 5th set. Thank you for all the entertaining commentary from my fellow voyeuristic bootleggers, too. Arrrrrrgh, pirated videos be the best videos, matey!

Yeah. So the first set lineup works better than the last 4 set lineup. That much is clear. 6-2 is not it. Izzy has zero ability to make anyone guess. Can't say I was impressed with MJ. It might be a long season. Or a short one.

What up with Crawford getting just 1 SET per set ?? Was passing that bad?

After this performance I think the 5-2 as advocated by Robert Earle is the better system than the 6-2. Or 5
Or at the minimum pull Franklin from 6 rotation duty and get a DS on the floor. We do not get good enough setter play to withstand our current weakness back there.

Sheffield didn't care to grow and make adjustments. Too bad. Wait, what? It's the second match of the year, and you're talking about the coach that just won the national championship. What would it take to get a little leeway from you? 4 championships in a row Russ Rose style? Surely Sheffield has earned a smidgen of a benefit of the doubt, hasn't he?

I do agree getting more passing stability would be good.

I know it's not an apples to apples comparison because opponents are different and "its all about matchups", but did Baylor play better than against MN? Against Minnesota: K. McGhee- 2-1-10 (.100), 3 blocks Simpson- 9-9-21 (.000) Against Wisconsin: K McGhee- 8-1-18 (.389), 8 blocks Simpson- 16-4-35 (.343) Those two turned it around for sure.

Oh baby, you must not know me... just because you win NT doesn't mean miss diva won't question you... mostly tongue and cheek. Your team is missing 20 serves .... how about one of your 8 DS's on your bench sub in and put the ball in? How about blocking adjustments and maybe switches when the same attacker on the opposite side keeps scoring... -- How about Franklin hitting behind the middle in SR to create some variance.... honey, I can go on and on....

We do not get good enough setter play to withstand our current weakness back there. But maybe not without Bramschreiber. You need the defense for the backrow attacking. Another thing 5-2 would allow in MJ to go up for the 'at the net' overpass without causing a backrow attack call. That came up three or four times this weekend.
