Yes. Going from 1 healthy MB in 2022 to 5 MB's in 2023. I'm not surprised by the Blazkova addition, as I assume/hope she will have 4 great future years replacing Jehlarova. But this makes me wonder about the addition of Radakovic. Can Radakovic backup Katy Ryan at Opp and/or play OH in emergency situations? In 2017 and 2018, Don Shaw would comment that WSU had MB's all over the court. Claire Martin, Joselyn Urias, and Ella Lajos were all MB's that started at MB and Opp. Mims (a former MB) started at OH. Will 2023 end up being the same? The Cougs need another backup at OH/Opp and Setter. Was wondering the same thing. If one would be slotted into OPP as needed. Yeah, definitely a second setter would be ideal. Earlier this year, Peyton Claus was added as a Setter/DS. |

Looks like the roster for 2023 is finalized reportedly:
OH: Pia Timmer (5th year), Iman Isanovic (GR), Weronika Wojdyla (RS-SR)-played MB last year, but previous years played very sporadically in OH
OPP: Katy Ryan (JR)
MB: Magda Jehlárová (5th year), Shea Rubright (RS-SR?), Jasmine Martin (SR), Lana Radakovic (5th year), Lucie Blažková (FR)
S: Argentina Ung (SR), Peyton Claus (JR)-also DS
L/DS: Karly Basham (5th year), Emma Barbero (FR), Julia Norville (5th year), Logann Golden (SR)
A very experienced team. Next year will be nearly a complete rebuild. Nice depth in MB/DS now. A bit concerning about lack of depth for setter and pins. A couple of middles will likely need to be training on the pins as backups, and if Ung goes out, Claus is not a very experienced setter in college. She transfers in having only DS'd last year. Let's hope all players stay injury free this season! If so, I see a very strong season occurring.

VT voters think more like a top 16 team, but 21 isn't bad. I think it is interesting how a top 20 team can be this good, yet not a lot of VT fan support. Looking forward to them upsetting some ranked teams this season.

Just noticed on the roster page that Barbero is listed as L and Basham is listed as DS/L. Maybe Barbero has taken that L spot from her, as some might have suspected could occur. Also noticed that Magdalena Juric is listed as OH. She played as OPP for CSUN last season, so she is the backup pin if their starting pins need a sub or goes out.

Hoping to get this thread going. Last night was so disheartening. We had great looks but Louisville defense was fantastic. Hoping for a better day today.

There were parts where WSU looked fantastic but Louisvilles defense was suffocating and wsu looked disheartened. I expected a bit more but Magda might have played the worst match of her career |
