So Cayley is playing 6 rotations, is she now an OH or Opp? She has always been the “OH”. So Riley OH1, Caylen OH2, and Brae Opp? What’s preventing Ham to be in the front row? Her blocking?

Texas State coach got tense every time Kate set Amber. Hawaii’s middles are legit, but the Bows need to pass well for that option to be fluid. Amber especially, is a beast at the net.

She prob doesn’t put up great offensive numbers in practice compared to Akana but at this point I’m finding these hard to believe. Brake’s blocking is keeping her spot right now.

Nice win for the Wahine, and it is good they found a way to pull out two deuce sets. Looking forward to tomorrow night, or technically tonight, a little less than 17 hours from now, so I can watch them play on ESPN+.

YES RILEY!! I thought we would win, but not sweep. This is going to be good for our RPI. Solid performance ladies!! I doubt a win over Texas State will matter much for RPI. Texas St has had 20 or more wins every season going back to 2013. In 2020, they even got to a ridiculous 31 wins! I don't see this year's squad reversing that trend. Any opponent on your schedule that can rack up 20 wins or more will be a big help to your RPI.

And yes Tx St will be in serious contention for the conference title and another tournament bid. This is a solid win for Hawaii.

Brae is a good blocker, but I thought it was interesting that they put in DeGoede as a blocking specialist to seal the match.

I wonder why Alexander isn't an option for OPP? I'm guessing it's because Akana and Cowell aren't producing well on the outside in practice and Hawaii will need points. But Alexander had a kill on the right that was almost in the 3m line with heat!
Also, really loving UH's backcourt. Ikenaga, Wagoner, Ham, Edmonds, Lang and even Igiede make a pretty dynamic defense. Just wish we could pass better =P lol

To me it just looked like spot duty to close out the set, which they ended up doing a poor job of and Braelyn came back in anyway

Akana's front-row line from last night: H% .167; BS 0; BA 1; Digs 3; TP 4.5 Lang's line: H% .667; BS 0; BA 3; TP 6.5 When the setter outperforms the Oppo on the blocking and attacking lines, and it's starting to look like it could become a thing, the only silver lining is at least the setter is producing.
