So I watched Kentucky's matches from last weekend. The USC match was just a fiasco that I could not learn much from. The trojans could barely pass a ball. Against Creighton they did look really good, although it really seemed like Creighton was having a hard time passing and their block just wasn't there. I was thinking through the match, does Creighton know how to block this year?

Then I watched the blue jays against the huskers, and they still had trouble passing, but their block was much more effective, as was their floor D. Maybe they made some adjustments of raised their game because of the crowd and the rivalry, but it does make the Kentucky attack look better.

The badgers will be better than last weekend. I saw important improvements through the two matches last weekend. But Kentucky is ahead of them on current evidence, and it's in Lexington - no crowd to lift the play of the badgers when they get into one of their periodic funks in this 6-2. We don't know how the leadership shakes out in such situations.

There is no way to predict how teams match up this time of year - they are all such moving targets. But I'll change my vote here to 3-1 for Kentucky.

Did you watch it on Flo? I paid money to try and watch USC and Creighton and both matches showed up as being 4 hours long and the Creighton match wouldn't load past anthems. Watched USC though.

Re: your first two paragraphs. UK should give opponents blocking woes because they run a really fast offense. That was definitely on display against USC. UK is also a good serving team which partially explains your other observations.

Yeah, I apparently have a Flo subscription I didn't remember to cancel. There were some problems, but I was able to fast forward through the dead periods in the match and it was mostly all there.
