Yessss! I mean, I know they’re highlights, but dang she looks good! Imagine if what’s-his-face had actually let Stucky play more this summer... This connection would be even better. AVCA NPOW Idk about NPOW, there were some other players with really impressive stats this week. I’d love to see it! I guess one could argue that she had the best performance for a team playing away with a record-setting home crowd lol

OKAY SO, I was actually in Gainesville when this game took place and I was in the club with my phone on watching it lol. I do have some final notes and thoughts about everything. - Yes, Florida had a tough time closing out Set 3, but to be fair - Smrek came alive towardds the end of that set and her being 6'10 and ricocheting balls off the block didn't help at all - Yes Victoria/Markova flopped but to be fair and looking at the replays - it really just seems that Robinson/Smrek had their numbers. I don't think a middle blocker even touched a ball, I think Robison/Smrek set the blocks up so well. - Beason's break out match! They NEEDED a consistent hitter to make points and make plays and once Stucky and her get that backrow connection - it's over. - BACKROW!! The DEFENSE, the DIGS, THE RECEIVING... shook, amazing, wow... - This team is going to be lethal the more the play and next year? Forget about it. I *WOULD* much rather see another OH other than Victoria/ACF... but we'll see how they do in conference play. - FINALLY THE MIDDLES!! Since WHEN have we seen this muuch offense in the middle since Rhamat/Rachel? Bre Kelley AND Gabbi GAVE WHAT NEEDED TO BE GIVEN.

If she were as awful as you think Sheffield would have never trusted her with so much playing time at the end of last season. 😄 well, Sheffield trusted her bc she didn’t have to pass last year. Benefits of playing with super seniors Barnes and Gio lol. Freshman GG is not good enough to cover for Demps’ lack of passing ability lol GG put on an overall poor performance against Florida and hasn't been good enough over the course of the whole season let alone cover for others. lol. She is a far cry from Lauren Barnes at this point. Does she have potential? Yes.

I would say GG has shown more upside on defense then Barnes and is def the best bump setter I’ve seen in a badger uniform, but I agree she is a long ways from matching Barnes level as Barnes could handle covering half the court on serve receive.

Our block was real good for the most part. Way too many mental errors throughout the contest and Robinson has been off for like three contests in a row now. Slide to Hart looking nice as well.

That's pretty awful, GG. Where were those who said she played well?!?! 🙄🙄 and Robinson has been off for like three contests in a row now. Today vs Rhode Island: 2 kills, 1 error, 6 attempts, .167. I wouldn't put much weight into a match like this, they didn't need her much, and they didn't use her much. Florida: 7 kills, 7 errors, 26 attempts, .000. That's a bad night. Campbell: 1 kill, 2 errors, 6 attempts. -.167. I wouldn't put much weight into a match like this, they didn't need her much, and they didn't use her much. Kentucky: 13 kills, 3 errors, 31 attempts, .323. I can go back further, but your contention that she "been off for like three contests in a row now", only gets worse. Unless you're counting Campbell, and Rhode Island, and you shouldn't....

Are you padding your post count for the jollies of it? Desperate for things to quibble with. 🤣 Feel free to research back farther if you get some jollies from it though. And yes the last three matches which included today is what I counted.

Desperate die things to quibble with. 🤣 My problem is you keep posting nonsense that is either flatly not true or is at best VERY misleading. A player who only takes six swings in a match where sets are being won 25-12 etc DID NOT "struggle". She had a bad night vs Florida. She had two matches where they didn't use her much because they didn't need to. And she has five other matches where she's been good or great. Before you post what you "feel" or you think you remember, do us all a favor and check first. They write this stuff down. You can look it up.

Or was today a match that one should not draw any particular conclusions from because of the quality of the opponent and the way it played out?

A player with a hitting percentage under .100 generally speaking has not had a good game. ON SIX SWINGS. That small a "sample size" really should not be used to come to any conclusion. Particularly when the opponents are Campbell and Rhode Island, etc. When you take 20 swings, eg, against a higher quality opponent, then the percent becomes meaningful. Attaching a qualifier like "effective" or "struggling" etc to a match when the player takes that few swings is likely to be misleading, and is just silly.

The stats indicate a subpar performance. Just because a player doesn't play all three sets doesn't mean they can't have an off night.

The stats indicate a subpar performance. Just because a player doesn't play all three sets doesn't mean they can't have an off night. It isn't a question of how many sets! It is the size of the denominator in the fraction; how many total attempts the percentage covers. Demps was two kills, two errors on six swings. today. One of the errors gets played instead of going wide, and her percentage goes from .000 to .167. It is simply too small a sample to draw any particular conclusion from, good or bad. And then there's the opponent. Franklin today was 9 kills, no errors, 12 swings. That's .750. That's great. But it's against Rhode Island. And apologies to Rhode Island, but that simply doesn't mean as much as if you do that against Nebraska etc. It just doesn't. Saying "Robinson has struggled over the last three matches" when two of those three were only six swings, and in matches where her performance simply did not matter to the outcome of the match is VERY misleading. I don't know if you're doing that with some intent, or you don't really understand the idea of 'sample size', but it is still quite misleading.

In my opinion Robinson had had three consecutive matches where she wasn't quite herself. You can mine the statistics but you can't change her hitting percentage. Whether or not a player plays high volume or not doesn't preclude them from having an off night.
