I had Pitt at 10 but honestly they’d be lower if I didn’t have intimate knowledge of the program and players. Plus over the years they have gotten disproportionately punished for any missteps. I strongly believe that team will do special things this year when they get settled in. So I’m gonna keep hailing. #H2P!

Towson is strange. They have a nothing-burger of a schedule except at Pitt, which wasn't even really a fluke, they outscored Pittsburgh at Pitt.
They also are starting CAA conference play this week, which is really interesting. Not sure if that is worse or better for them from an RPI standpoint, it's not like their conference foes were winning much non-conference.

Who put Stanford at 3 🥴 It wasn't me. I had them at 11 and they were only that high bc a lot of other teams also had unexpected losses and dropped. In my "mental list", they're around #15. But I can kind of see it if someone has Minnesota and Penn State ranked high and thought the Minnesota match was more indicative of their level than the Penn State or Florida matches. Maybe they were really impressed with the MN match, base a lot of the ranking on potential, and think that Stanford will improve a lot over the season.

Pretty much ditto for me ... if Minny had played a solid match and not passed like a bad club team, and Stanford took them out 3-1 with similar scores, then yeah, #3 might be ok. As it was, Stanford should have won in 3, but their inconsistency problems prevented the sweep.

I am not sure they could even get into the T25 RPI with that schedule - even if they were to win out. Kind of speculation, but that schedule is very bad. By my calculation - they have an extra 3 days they could play. I cannot imagine any kind of bubble team with an extra day on their schedule not being interested for an RPI win/win. People should be getting on the phone...

They are a legit team who I think could beat a lot of good teams. Too bad they don’t play more top teams, I hope they make a run come tournament time.

Funny thing is I was on campus both days of the tournament. American had set point vs Towson first set and ended up losing the set. Then American lost following sets -22, -22 Towson raised their game and played their minds out vs Pitt. It was very impressive.

Like I wrote in another thread - their run in the tournament this year will most likely require them to beat Penn State in Happy Valley in the 2nd round. Which I now think may be their first and only loss this season. Or they could win that game and have claim to 'owning' the state of Pennsylvania.

Does Pittsburg has their own thread? I just wanted to ask why Dalton is playing 6 rotation.
