Does this tournament happen every year? This is a fun grouping If you’re paying for Flo sports, don’t pay $30. If you use the big east discount method, it’s 12.50 The past couple of years, ISU and IL have played in the Red Bird Classic in Normal. 2021: ISU, ILL, Missouri, N. Texas 2019: ISU, ILL, Marquette, UCF

This will be a telling weekend for Illinois. I re-watched the EIU match and that only made me more worried about our outlook for the rest of the season. Our serve receive and defense is still so concerning. An OVC team was getting us out of system more times than not. Hell - we nearly lost a set to them! Hopefully they prove that Wednesday night was just a fluke and we get some solid wins this weekend... I changed my vote from Illinois to Marquette after the EIU match. I hope I'm wrong. I think Illinois will need to play a clean, low error match, to prevail over a solid Marquette bunch, playing in their home gym. Marquette is a consistent, side-out team, with a sneaky good core of players. I really like their setter from Peru. I’m picking the home team, but… Illinois has some B1G time talent, for sure. Though itz like WTH sometimes (ie. Colorado, EIU). They could have beaten Bergmann Tech (Julia wasn’t great) and Illinois just beat themselves in that match. If the Illini can transition better and more consistently, they’ll prevail.

What I’m liking about Marquette is that there is no stand out star, just a steady contribution from everyone. Middles Hattie Bray and Carsen Murray have been consistent and the Freshman have also made contributions. I take it back, Carly Skrabak has been a rockstar so far as Libero and Aubrey Hamilton almost always gets them a point when they need it. An overall good squad and young too. Most of these girls will be together for a few years.

A match at 10 am and then again at 6 pm? That’s a recipe for disaster. most teams have schedules like that (or worse) a few times each season during the non-conference weekends

That is not showing up on my thread in Firefox. For Illinois fans traveling up there, I would recommend the Sobelman's for burgers or Real Chili for old school Midwestern chili and dogs for Milwaukee institutions near the Al McGuire Center!

There's apparently a half marathon tomorrow that starts in front of the Al McGuire Center.

Lame! The food suggestions are still MKE institutions in their various locations, however!

Interesting, the teraflex is not in use for the Battle of Illinois in Wisconsin.
