You saw how the 5-1 looked at the end. Badgers were outgunned. The block with Izzy at the net was non existent. They took advantage just like Haggerty look advantage of McMenimen in 2019. A 5-11 blocker against a 6-5 and a 6-4 hitter just won't work. Did it really seem that way? I know Ehman said that, but it looked like Landfair hit over the middle, cross court once and the second time it was just one-on-one, and yes, Landfair won that match-up. But it wasn’t any different during the 6-2 rotation the entire match either Izzy was front row for all of two, maybe three points? Yeah. let's draw conclusions from that. -------------- Three points. She rotated to the front with the score 27-26 Badgers ahead.

Baby girl... he's running a %*$#ty 6-2 to apiece a 9 year program member (Izzy) ... he has Shrek, which clearly is unstoppable in the middle, trying to run her on RS like she's doing something there... Has the best potential Libero (Orzol) and likely one of the best freshman OH's (Wrobel) riding the pine and yet he chooses this garbage line up... Are we really going to depend on 80 swings from Franklin every match, 40 of which will be out or blocked... he's not a visionary, lacks the fortitude, that's very apparent. Winning a national championship as nothing to do with the coach, just look at Jerrod Elliot... You're panicking. If you don't pass, it doesn't matter if Smrek is in the middle, she's not getting the ball. And when teams find out that Hart and CC can't hit of two feet on the RS, they know we're going to her anyway. Rettke and Hilley bailed us out so often because they could run a slide on a pass to the 10' line. That opened up the court for Smrek. They need to get the passing together before Smrek can be a threat from the middle. In the mean time, she has to learn to hit out of the right side. I agree on passing, but he needs to try others out there, he's so into GG, like he owes her something...

omg defending national champion can’t coach. y’all need to do some breathing exercises. I mean the Demps front row experience needs to be over. Smrek stays in unless Wrobel can ply RS Demps is hitting quite a bit better than smrek right now on the season.

Is it normal for a young libero (GG) to struggle this much in serve receive?

Those were high bump sets, they could hit half the court hitting over her. She is not a RS blocker.

Is it normal for a young libero (GG) to struggle this much in serve receive? Yes. She is and has been overated. Go watch some of her games with Sariyer (Turkey). Out of position often and taken advantage of in serve/receive. Just as we are seeing this year. She does make some amazingly athletic plays but can be targeted and prone to terrible struggles.

She is not a RS blocker. Which is why they're running a 6-2. But when a set goes that long, you are forced into 'plan B'. They had chances to end the set before that point, but didn't get it done then.

It felt like there were some missed opportunities to close that set. Those two missed serves around the 20 point mark were painful. Just didn't execute. The gopher played the kind of inspired defense I haven't seen this season. Their block was a problem. Until the setting gets better, we'll have problems with that. I'm not entirely sure what Liz is bringing to the table as a server that CC or Franklin cannot. There must be something that they are seeing in practice, or maybe it's for the BR defense.

Diva diva diva: last year you lose your stud MH he adjusts with a high bread MB RS tactic and a back row attacker specialist !!! And now he’s out of his league?? Wow Stay in your lane diva! Winning a national championship as nothing to do with the coach, just look at Jerrod Elliot... I'm a little confused by this sentence as it pertains to your argument. Are you saying that Texas was lucky to have won one national championship in 2012 despite their coach? Or that they should've won more by now with the quality of coach they have in Elliot? I've always sort of raised an eyebrow at anyone describing Elliot as an amazing coach, as with the level of recruits he gets, he doesn't translate that into national championships the way Nebraska, Penn State or Stanford have, historically.

Robinson is such a dynamic player but the way the Badgers are using her, I barely even noticed her.

We’ll that’s frustrating. We have to figure something out. FAST.
Please, Sheff, I beg you. Ditch the 6-2.
